Making Leadership Visible at VEON

Some leadership conversations are easy to define on paper, but much harder to bring into everyday practice.

That was the core challenge in a recent session with VEON in Dubai.

The Leadership Manifesto already existed. The question was not what it should say. The real question was: how do you actually make it work inside the organization?

We were at Le Royal Meridien JBR, supporting a leadership discussion where different ideas, frameworks, and expectations were being shared in real time.

Our role at Marker was to capture that conversation visually as it unfolded.

Instead of turning it into notes, we translated the discussion into a live visual map. As the session progressed, patterns started to appear. What felt abstract in conversation became clearer when placed on one shared surface.

Leadership competencies began to connect to real systems like hiring, performance, and development. Not as theory, but as something operational.

Leaders in the room, including Kaan Terzioğlu and Jameel Asghar, actively shaped the direction of the discussion. There was a clear shift once the visual started reflecting their thinking in real time.

At some point, the conversation moved away from defining concepts. It became about execution.

That is usually the moment where things become most interesting in our work.

Because once ideas are visible, the way people engage with them changes.

By the end of the session, the Leadership Manifesto was no longer just a document. It felt more like a working system that could be used, tested, and developed further.

That’s what visual facilitation does when it works well. It doesn’t add more information. It simply makes what is already there easier to see.
