Everything is under control

The art of hiding the storm within

By Sonia BiswasPublished 3 months ago • 1 min read

I make my way

throughout the day

going about

without a doubt

Everything is under control

As the sun goes down

my smile fades to a frown

my confidence no longer fits

as soon as reality hits

Everything is under control

All those happy memories

and all those forgotten worries

my mind begins to fade

as I remember his face

Everything is under control

And so morning come again

another day begin

I try to forget him

yet echoes stay behind of it

Everything is under control

No one can know

and I can't let it show

and so I accept defeat

as I repeat

Everything is under control

Remembering that fire

it sparks an old desire

my foolish heart climb higher

hope that he hasn't expired

I repeat, until it is within every heartbeat

Everything is under control

Everything is under control

Everything is under control

His name will forever be engraved in my heart

feelings that won't ever spark

how could I be so foolish?

As to think he will ever be erased

No matter what, it was inevitable

thoughts and feelings, unforgettable

It will never be okay

and it will never go away

There he was gone

time and the world move on

Though it still aches

my confidence still shakes

I'll dry my tears and face the day

therefore hope is not too far away

Everything is under control.
