I want to fly, feel the air on
My cheeks.
I want to soar,
Surf on the floating clouds.
I want to look at my toes, look at
The wonders under me.
Was Rome truly built in a day?
Do the angels really cry down south?
I want to glide on the stars, see them sparkle in my eyes.
Always I have been so envious,
Of a child’s kite,
How she flies in the sky, how the wind holds her hips.
One swift snip,
She’ll be gone forever.
How carelessly on the edge she is.
I want to surf on the floating clouds,
And see what’s beyond.
