  • Open the Company Files folder again, look for the QuickBooks Auto Data Recovery folder and open it.
  • Search the file named .QBW.adr, right-click it and choose the Copy option.
  • Now, paste the copied .QBW.adr to the QBTest folder.
  • Right-click the copied .QBW.adr file and choose the Rename option.
  • Remove “.adr” from the end of the file name.
  • Open QuickBooks Desktop, select the File menu and then choose the Open or Restore Company option.
  • Select the Open a company file option and then hit the Next button.
  • Now, choose the company file that is stored on the QBTest folder.

Note: If you are able to open the company file, then we suggest you move the damaged company file to somewhere else on the computer and transfer the copied one from QBTest to the Company Files folder.
