If you haven't heard of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, then you're not alone. It's surprising that cybersecurity awareness isn't something we hear more often. This year was the 14th annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month; however, it occurred right around the Thanksgiving holiday, so I think it's a topic many of us missed.

National cybersecurity awareness month takes place every october and is a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure that all americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month takes place every October and is a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online. In 2015, President Obama signed an Executive Order creating National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM).

This annual event is designed to enable all Americans to learn more about cybersecurity and how they can protect themselves from cyber threats. NCSAM is also intended to encourage businesses and organizations across the nation to take action by implementing policies, procedures, and technologies that help safeguard their networks against cyberattacks.

The department of homeland security sponsors ncsam in partnership with the national cyber security alliance (ncsa), a non-profit, public-private sector coalition.

Recent events have highlighted how vulnerable we are to cyber attacks and how important it is to keep our information safe online. We need to continue educating ourselves about online security issues and work together as a community to protect ourselves from cyber criminals who are trying to steal our personal information or disrupt our daily lives.
