Both formats have been obvious candidates for generative video and awkward ones in practice. The reasons were consistency, dialogue and volume. Here is how those three break down against what MiniMax H3 actually does.
Locking a cast before episode one
Nothing kills a serialised format faster than a lead whose face changes between episodes. Written descriptions cannot hold a character across a hundred generations, and every production that has tried ends up maintaining a document of prompt formulations that worked once.

Shooting in shots, not scenes
Each generation yields between four and fifteen seconds, with resolution reaching 2K. An episode is therefore built out of many of them rather than produced in one pass.
That maps onto how these formats are cut anyway. Vertical drama lives on short takes, reverse angles and quick cuts. Ninety seconds might contain fifteen shots.
Practical sequence: break the script into shots before generating anything. Attach the character reference set to each. Generate in order so continuity errors surface while you can still fix them cheaply. Assemble in an editor, where a human decides pace and where the hook lands.
Comic series work the same way, with panels as the starting reference and motion described per shot.
Continuity repair without reshooting
The capability that changes production economics is editing existing footage.
Objects, environments, sound and timing can be altered inside material already generated, leaving the rest of the frame untouched. In serialised production this handles the errors that surface constantly: a wardrobe detail that changed halfway through a sequence, a prop that should not be on the table yet, a background element that contradicts the previous episode, a line that needs rewriting after a script note.

Both formats lean on typography. Subtitles run constantly, episode titles and chapter cards carry brand identity, and comic series often build entire beats around lettering and sound effects rendered as art.

Where the workflow still needs people
Sequence and pace are not generated. Someone decides shot order, where a scene cuts and how an episode ends, and in a format built on cliffhangers that decision is the product.
Continuity across shots is managed, not automatic. Reference sets get you most of the way; a human still watches for the detail that slipped.
And nothing here films a real actor. Productions built on a specific performer, or on physical authenticity, remain live-action jobs.
