Everyone needs a little extra cash every now and again, but doing jobs for other people can be difficult or too time-consuming. However, just about everyone has a moneymaker right in their pocket—their smartphone! Today I will be giving you honest opinions of the top 12 apps that I have tried—and cashed out with—that you can download on your phone and get to earning!

1) K.O. Trivia

With K.O. Trivia, you simply take short quizzes against other players for coins that you save up and eventually cash out when you reach at least 3,000 coins starting at 5 cents. Of course, you win more coins if you place first, but you still earn some if you place second or third. Each quiz offers different coin values you can win, and after reaching higher levels, you can receive free chests that also offer different numbers of coins. You get three lives and lose one if you get a question wrong. Once you run out of lives, you will be eliminated from the quiz. You can always get your lives back by watching a few short ads. You do need a PayPal for this one if you intend to straight up cash out, but they do offer different gift cards such as Amazon, DealDash, and more. You could also buy various gifts with your coins, too!

2) Lucky Money

Lucky Money is a scratch card app that you can either win coins or real cash for! Like real scratch cards, all you have to do is match three of the given icon and you win! The best part about Lucky Money is that even if you don’t match three, you can still get a reward for trying. You can either win various amounts of coins or cash for your efforts. You also get daily rewards and incentives, lucky codes from their Facebook page (Lucky Money App), lucky spins that can win you cash or coins, and raffles and lottos to try to win big! With coins, it starts at 3 million for a $2 Amazon gift card and 10 million for a $10 PayPal card. With cash, you much reach $10 before receiving a PayPal payment. I know it seems like a lot, but it’s actually super easy to do! I’ve only done it for 2 weeks and already cashed out! Plus, it gives you so many chances to earn more coins such as watching a short ad. I highly recommend this one!

3) Lucky Day

Lucky Day, like Lucky Money, is a scratch card app. It has the same general layout of Lucky Money with just a few differences. You get multiple raffles to enter, a lotto, and a chance to win big by playing BlackJack with the coins you’ve earned! With Lucky Day, you coins get you gift cards only, but for great places such as Bath & Body Works; Red Robin; JCPenney; AMC Theatres; Sephora; Starbucks, and more! When it comes to your cash, you must reach $10 before receiving your money through PayPal.

4) Playspot

Playspot is an app that gives you various games to play for coins, each one ranging from different earning levels. The games are actually pretty fun, and there’s such a variety that it doesn’t ever really get boring. This app only uses coins, and offers redemption through PayPal, Amazon, Google Play, and even straight to your bank account. PayPal, Amazon, and having it sent to your account all start at 20,000 coins for a $20 payment, while Google Play starts at 25,000 for a $25 voucher. It’s actually pretty easy to earn coins relatively quickly with this one. Just select the games you want to play, and earn! The more you play, the more you earn. One cool feature about Playspot is the different levels they have. Once you earn 9,000 coins, you reach the pro level, which means higher payout and new offers! So it gives you even more chances to earn!

5) Quizdom

Quizdom is one of the more dissimilar apps that I’ve come across. How it works is that you get ten lives to play various types of quizzes (logo quiz, guess the song, Disney, mythology, general knowledge, and more) and at the end of each set, you get a chance to spin for cash or power-ups to use on your questions. They also offer missions that can help you earn more and faster, but as far as I can tell, they only have ten missions. They also offer a small scratch card section and a spin the wheel as well! I honestly really like this one, too. It’s such a different way to do this kind of thing, and the quizzes are so diverse that you can get lost in answering some of them. Although it is a tad slower, it is a great app to download still.

6) Slice Reward

Slice Reward uses three different types of earning—spin the wheel, slots, and a clicker. Once you complete all three, you earn a present that can give you more coins. When you finish the section, you can spend some time trying to earn more by guessing which box has the better win. This one is a bit more mindless and doesn’t require much thought. It takes a little while to cash out since you need 40,000 coins for $1 and for an Amazon gift card, but since it doesn’t demand your attention 24/7, it could very well be worth it.

7) Quick Thoughts

QuickThoughts is a survey app that allows you to earn actual money for each questionnaire you take with varying payout amounts and survey times. If you don’t qualify after answering the questions to see if you’re a fit, you automatically get 10 cents for trying. You have to have $10 to cash out, and on Android, they offer Amazon gift cards and iTunes cards for iPhone. I have received payment from this app so many times it’s honestly crazy. The fact that you get a reward for trying really makes it super easy to earn each time. I also find it easy to use this one consistently because of that fact. Apps that don’t feature something like this make me aggravated that I wasted my time and that I could’ve done literally anything else. I’d really say this one is very worth your time and effort.

8) Survey Junkie

Survey Junkie is (obviously) a survey app and website that lets you earn points in exchange for cash. For example, if you reach 1,000 points, that’s your $10 goal. This one also has varying reward amounts per survey, as well as how long each one will take. This one also has a feature where you’ll earn 2 or 3 points for trying to see if you qualify for a survey, which is a huge plus. I personally have found that more often than not, I qualify. Of course, this can range from person to person, but there’s a pretty high chance they have a survey for everyone. Survey Junkie is another one that I’ve cashed out with a good number of times. Another survey taker I highly recommend.

9) Fetch Rewards

Fetch Rewards is an app that allows you to scan any grocery receipt and get points that you can use for gift cards. It’s SUPER easy to earn points with this app since 1) you go to the store much more often than you think 2) it gives you a very fair amount for the amount you paid at the store. This app offers all different kinds of gift cards: art, beauty, electronics, entertainment, retail, restaurant and travel. They also offer sweepstakes, MasterCard/Visa cards, and for you to donate to charity! It also shows you a list of brands that will always give you points, which helps when you go shopping. One cool feature of this app is the referral code. If you use someone’s code, you AND that person both get 3,000 points when you scan your first receipt!

If you’re interested in getting a huge amount of coins from the get-go, feel free to use my code: MR75P! I highly recommend it since it’s so easy to use and is involved with your daily life, and doesn’t require just about anything from you at all. Just take a picture of your receipt, and go!

10) Easy Shift

Easy Shift is an app that allows you to “pick up shifts” for various tasks around your town. For example, one “shift” I had to do was to take pictures of certain items in my nearest Dollar General store and help them take inventory of certain items. It also asked for pictures of certain areas such as beauty, front and back of the store, and how the store looked outside. It’s actually pretty easy if you’re willing to go into a store and get the work done. Each “shift” has certain time limits that you can accept the job and actually perform the job. If you fail to perform it, it gets removed from your list for someone else to try. It pays you via PayPal once your submission is reviewed and approved. My only complaint about Easy Shift is that if you don’t live in a busy area, you won’t get many opportunities and you’ll have to take a drive to where it is busier. But other than that it’s a relatively easy way to make some extra cash!

Well, there you have it! The top ten ways to use your phone to earn some play money. Please keep in mind that some of these apps may not be offered on Android or iPhone respectively. I have an Android and am able to use apps like Lucky Money or Lucky Day, but my husband—who has an iPhone—is not. But if it’s not available to you, share it with a family member or friend who could get good use out of it! Sharing is caring, after all!

Happy earning!!
