The Greater Good

Am I seriously the only one who watched The Terminator and I, Robot? Because I feel like I'm taking crazy pills watching the news lately.

So, usually, I avoid the news at all costs. But lately my Facebook feed is full of random ass people I don't know and clips from news outlets I never fucking asked for. I rarely ever see updates from friends... just spam from "digital creators" that I don't even follow. I don't know how I allowed myself to get wrapped up in it this morning... but before I knew it, I'd watched random reels of news where everyone is saying an AI take over is inevitable for roughly an hour.

I saw one saying the creators of Anthropic (Claude) claim that AI is potentially going to destroy humanity within a decade.

Why would a creator say that about their own project if there wasn't some truth there? I don't know a single person who would self sabotage like that.

The real horror for me is less that a machine will just "wake up" and decide to kill us all out of malice... more so that people are building a super efficient mirror of their own worst, greediest impulses and pretending everything is fine while the world burns. Literally. I read that this was the hottest summer for most of us and the coolest one we will see again. I don't know if that's true. I'm not God. But if that's their theory, then building a fuck ton of new AI data centers that are emitting enormous amounts of heat and sucking up fresh drinking water is probably detrimental.

Also... anyone else notice the political class rushing to embrace and monetize this technology? There is a large amount of people that claim to hate Trump... but he is casually going on camera claiming that all we really need to keep AI in control is a "strong leader" (implying himself naturally.) Now... again... people claim they HATE him and everything out of his mouth is bullshit. But these same people are constantly running to ChatGPT for everything. If everything out of his mouth is bullshit... and you hate him and everything he stands for, why are y'all so quick to jump on the AI bandwagon? I'm genuinely confused.

Isn't the thing these days to do the exact opposite of what Trump tells you? Or does that only apply to certain aspects? Is it greed? Is AI making things easier for you? Explain it to me like I'm five please. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't stand for any politician and I HATE hypocrisy... so yeah.. this one.. it baffles me beyond words. I've seen people hate Trump more than any president ever.. but they're all basically shoving AI bots right up their ass and running with it while he is so vocal on his support of them.

"Adapt or get left behind." Isn't that what he said? And if that's the case, leave me behind because I don't want technology to advance anymore.

Anyways.. that aside, him saying something as vapid as "AI just needs a strong leader" (like him) is giving peak Skynet hubris. In every single sci-fi movie about rogue technology, the fatal flaw of mankind isn't that they built something smart... it's the arrogant belief by the men in power that they are special enough to leash a god. They don't want to regulate the danger... they just want more power and money.

Meanwhile, look at what it's doing to the physical world under the logic of corporate optimization. Data centers are slurping down gallons of water and frying electrical grids, while REAL, living communities face resource crunches.

Recently, a federal appeals court issued a ruling in a major case involving the water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi. They declared that "it is undisputed that the Constitution does not guarantee clean water," ruling that water mismanagement and exposure to contaminants like lead do not violate constitutional rights.

So... water isn't even a universally protected human right anymore...

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Pretty sure you can't have life without water.. but ok, bro.

Speaking of inverted morals, look at the legal bullshit happening behind closed doors. The system is bending over backwards to protect AI generated CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. The August 2026 ruling for United States vs Anderegg ruled that the private possession of AI-generated child pornography kept inside a home is technically protected under a binding combination of Stanley vs. Georgia and Ashcroft vs. Free Speech Coalition.

So, we can protect sexually explicit AI-generated material of children and call it "free speech"... but water is "NOT a right?" Checks out. When our leaders decide that clean water is negotiable, but AI generated trash is protected speech, the dystopia isn't just a made up sci-fi movie anymore.. it's exiting its shiny limo doing naked cartwheels right in front of you and you still don't notice or acknowledge it.

I don't even have to watch the news to see the bullshit in real time. It's happening right in my own backyard. Data centers are pushing their way into Bowie County, Texas. The push in New Boston is a huge talking point. We have Project Big Pine. This is a huge campus scale development spanning hundreds of acres in western Bowie County, driven by developers partnering with entities like the TexAmericas Center to build out a hub specifically designed for AI infrastructure.

Through deals backed by Fort Worth backed ventures, they've laid the groundwork behind closed doors to carve up land for their AI playgrounds. It hasn't gone unchallenged. Everyone has been fighting back really hard. There are tons of petitions and a group called No Bowie County Data centers fighting these developments. All we keep hearing is how it's gonna bring in billions. For WHO? Not for us. Frankly, I don't want billions of dollars if it means destroying the planet and peoples and animals lives. The rich get richer while our land is depleted of vital resources.

So do I think we should fear that AI suddenly grows a conscience and hates us? No. I think we should fear that AI copies the people developing and funding it. The ones pushing it are people in positions of political and corporate power who want more of that with zero accountability and total surveillance.

When they code these systems to prioritize profit and dominance over everything else, the AI just becomes a ruthless reflection of its creators. It's 1984 happening in real life. We've read the books. We've watched the movies. We know how the tropes end... and yet... here people are... speed running the scripts and clapping while they run secret deals to drain us all dry.

And just when you think dystopia couldn't get any more unhinged, I'm here to tell you about where these tech bros are taking things...

AI driven sex robots have entered the chat. Not your basic silicone doll anymore. Nope. Companies are aggressively fusing advanced generative AI models, emotional memory algorithms, and voice synthesis with humanoid robots that can learn preferences and mimic emotional attachment while validating egos and catering to every impulse on demand. Oh... hi, I, Robot! Sick.

Why is it always women and children being exploited? That's a whole other article.

The same people cool with draining municipal water supplies and bulldozing rural Texas farmland for server racks are more than happy to profit off of fake intimacy. Love that for us. I mean... why deal with messy human relationships and emotional accountability when you can purchase a programmable, compliant product that never talks back or tells you no.

So... human interaction is just another thing they profit off of.. and it's NOT EVEN FUCKING HUMAN ANYMORE! Not to mention, you can change out the face.. we don't even need to be exclusive with a partner anymore.

Progress. No more human connection.

Have you heard of the dead internet theory?

Scrolling through the internet these days, you realize the internet as we knew it has essentially died. What used to be forums and music and Quizilla is nothing but a never ending loop of arguments. Enter the chat bots.

When you open up your feed and it's flooded with random strangers and engagement farming loops, you have to realize it's because human beings are being crowded out of their own digital space by machines. Look at how people are interacting online, they're so hateful. You don't usually see that in real life, do you? No. We're arguing with bots. Look at the comment sections on a post regarding politics or local issues. Most of those accounts aren't even humans anymore. They are automated social bots programmed to mimic human rage.

Algorithms don't care about truth or health debate, they run on outrage because anger keeps human glued to their screen better than anything else. People spend time drafting a passionate and fact-based response to a total stranger... and you're just wasting your energy on an AI-generated profile designed entirely to farm impressions. This keeps us all angry and divided. We yell at machines while corporations rake in the data from ad revenue. Awesome.

That's why social media algorithms are designed specifically to push things that are controversial. That's why our feeds look the way they do. Outrage and anger are the most effective psychological fuels for engagement and platform business models rely entirely on keeping us glued to our screens for as long as possible to harvest data and serve ads.

Studies show things like moral outrage trigger way higher rates of human response than positive things do. When a post makes someone angry, they are more likely to type a reply or share the content for debate. But a calm discussion usually ends quickly because people agree and move on. To keep you looped, the algorithm maps what catches your attention and feeds you increasingly extreme versions of it.

Eat the rich... but you're directly lining their pockets by arguing online or sharing political propaganda.

But, progress, right? I mean look at how progressive they were in 2021 when the demolished all of the milkweed in Tyler, Texas! Milkweed is a critical food source for the monarch butterfly. They didn't care. They bulldozed it all to make way for 5G towers!

Then they sold us the fairy tale that 5G towers were gonna make the internet faster than ever and accessible to EVERYONE! But what happened? Nothing wants to load... pages are timing out... servers are crashing left and right... my internet is slower than it's been since I've heard "You've Got Mail".

5G promised fast internet. What it gave us instead was health problems. Have you ever seen the health risks tied to constant electromagnetic fields? They claim everything is safe but yet, everyone around the data centers and towers seem to have chronic headaches and frequent nosebleeds. It feels like living inside of a microwave and our bodies and ecosystem are disposable collateral damage for shit we never even asked for and specifically voted against.

They love the planet and push for things like electric vehicles and carbon emission limits all while flying around in private jets and bulldozing fragile environments in nature. But this is all for "The greater Good". You know... the same saying all the evil people in movies love to vomit out.

One last horrifying look at where this is leading us is the story of 26-year-old Conor Hylton. He went to a hospital suffering from severe dehydration, pancreatitis, and alcohol withdraw. He was transferred to the ICU. No physical doctor ever walked in to check on him. Instead, the trendy "tele-ICU" did. As his condition spiraled, his blood pressure crashed and he started having seizures. The remote doctor finally ordered an emergency intubation, but because there WAS no doctor ON SITE, a local ER physician had to be called in.

According to the lawsuit his family is pushing, that doctor couldn't even find the ICU and had to wander the halls asking nurses for directions, which caused a fatal ten minute delay. By the time help finally arrived, it was too late. Conor was dead. He went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead by a remote provider through a fucking TV screen.

They are cutting humans out of the room to save a buck and letting people DIE while a guy on Zoom watches. What the fuck...

So, what have we learned today, class? Let's review the magnificent checklist of our modern day utopia:

1. Embrace the AI! But also, the creators themselves are warning us that it has the potential to wipe us all out in a decade, while our political geniuses tell us all we need is a "strong leader" to harness the power of our digital God.

2. We DESPERATELY need human connection! So naturally, get you a fake AI sex robot and log onto social media to argue with rage farming bots.

3. Love the planet! Just as long as that means flattening fragile environments, boiling the planet, sucking up all the water, tearing down trees while building 5G towers that leave your kid with nosebleeds and your internet slower than dial up, and paving over hundreds of acres of rural farmland for Project Big Pine.

4. Human rights and resources are deeply important to us! Unless, of course, a federal court decides food and clean water are not a right and legal systems protect AI generated porn.

It's all for the greater good, right? Destroy our health, suck our towns dry, cook the planet, and feed us to the algorithm while smiling from their million dollar homes and telling us to adapt or get left behind. Beautiful.
