The Connection between Feng Shui and Koi Fish

Chinese words for "feng" or "shui" are translated to "wind" or "water" in Chinese. This idea is based on an ancient poem about how human life flows with the environment.

What Is Feng Shui?

“The philosophy of feng shui is a practice of arranging the pieces in living spaces in order to create balance with the natural world. The goal is to harness energy forces and establish harmony between an individual and their environment.”

This philosophy is known in Asian culture as the Tao. It literally means "the way.” Taoism refers to the natural world’s way, and all of the fundamental principles of feng shui are based on it. The essential principles of feng shui are the commanding position, the five elements, and the Bagua.

The Commanding Position

The commanding position in a room is the one that is farthest away from the door but not directly in line with it. This position places you diagonally to the door. You should aim to have a clear line from the door.

The commanding place is the location where you will spend the majority of your time in that space. Feng shui guidelines recommend identifying the dominant position in the area and then aligning your bed, desk, or stove diagonally if possible. Each of these three elements of your home is important as they represent an essential part of your life. The bed is your identity, the desk your professional career, and the stove means your wealth and food.

The Feng Shui Bagua Map

Bagua refers to the feng-shui energy map that is superimposed onto the floor plan of your house. Bagua is a Chinese term that means "eight areas.” Each area corresponds to a different life situation, such as wealth, family, career, etc. These areas have corresponding shapes, colors, and seasons. The ninth area of the Bagua is you. It represents your overall well-being.

There are many schools of feng-shui thought. They all use Baguas to analyze your home. However, they may apply it in different ways. The Bagua is usually laid by the Western and BTB schools (Black Sect) so that the areas of knowledge, career, and help are aligned with the front door. The Bagua may be orientated by the Flying Stars or other classical schools based on the year's energy or the compass.

Bagua Areas

It is easiest to include the Bagua into your daily life by focusing on the areas that require the most attention. Don't try to tackle all the areas at once. We can use Feng shui to improve your energy and flow.

The Taoist tradition reveals the five elements: earth, metal, water, fire, and wood. Five interconnected phases of life are called the elements. They work together to form a system. Feng shui is a practice that balances these five elements in your home and each of your life areas.

You must decide where you want your energy to be directed to incorporate the elements into your life and home. You choose one to three areas in your life that you wish to improve, much like the Bagua. You can then enhance your energy and home by using the colors or shapes suggested in each room.

Feng Shui Koi Fish

Your Bagua, for example, shows that your bedroom is a place you feel at home and is a place where you can relax. It is connected to the earth element. You can incorporate earth tones, clay pottery, stones, or crystals into the room. Once you've made the improvements in that room, think about how you can improve other areas or rooms of your home. You can then look at the elements corresponding to those rooms and make positive changes in your life by adding them. You intend to add positive energy to these rooms and other areas of your home, as well as to your whole house.

Fengshui Koi Fish Painting symbolizes abundance, luck, and wealth, as well as the possibility of new opportunities. The Koi fish represent perseverance, the strength of character, and purpose in the face and adversity.

These paintings are suitable for both the home and office. To be the best, you can consider it a picture with nine Koi fish, eight red and one white. Eight is considered the most prosperous number in Fengshui. One black koi fish absorbs any negative energy entering your home.

Because it controls your cash flow, creativity, and confidence, the southeastern corner is the best spot to position your fish painting. The north (north symbolizes water) and the living room are good places to arrange your Feng Shui Koi Fish painting in the north (north represents water) and the living room.

Feng shui originated in China and is an ancient practice. It is translated to "wind" or "water" in Chinese.

This practice uses symbols and energy to regulate the qi (or vital energy) in your home. It allows you to live in harmony with your surroundings. It is easy to see why the fish is one of the most important symbols of feng shui. The symbol of abundance in East Asia has been the fish. These cultures rely on rice and fish as staple foods.

Fish Symbology

In the sense that the Chinese carp are similar to the salmon, these fish species are well-known for their endurance as they swim against currents. Although it can be difficult to swim upstream, this is one way to build strength. The carp reminds us that we can overcome difficulties and reap great rewards. The carp who swam up Yellow River to transform into a mighty dragon is told in Asia.

Feng shui also teaches us that fish can move freely and without obstacles. Your life will flow more smoothly if you have fish swimming in water (like an aquarium).

Water Element

Feng shui uses water and fish to represent prosperity and good fortune. You can increase the power of these symbols by combining water and koi fish.

Aquariums with live fish, outdoor koi pools, and fish in water imagery are some ways to incorporate the feng-shui symbols of fish into your home. An aquarium with koi fish can also help create smooth energy in your home, according to feng-shui. Smoothness is linked to easing, much like how water and fish flow in an aquarium.

To activate more prosperity, you can place the fish tank within your Wealth (Xun). To attract more wealth to your home, place the fish strategically near your entryway. If your aquarium has a waterfall, let the water flow towards the center of the house and not out.

Final thoughts

We can use a feng-shui aquarium to adjust your feng-shui. The water element, like fish, is connected to energy flow, wealth, and opportunities. An aquarium allows you to bring in the water element in an environment that is fresh and circulates with the natural life (the fish). It is the beauty of working with a lucky aquarium.
