Cyborg
“I would encourage you to become a cyborg. You wont be alone.” Through Neil Harbisson’s entire talk, I found it hard to agree with the points he was making after he stated that he uses this new technology to hear colors. Understanding that Neil Harbisson was born with achromatopsia (Total color blindness ), if he were to use this new technology to perceive colors, it would be as if a deaf person would use a cochlear implant to hear. Mr. Harbisson didn't stop there, and this is where I began to disagree. He upgraded his project so he can now hear ultraviolet and infrared rays, which are colors that seeing people are not able to view. There is an extent of helping a sense, and overwriting its natural code is wrong.

Becoming a FPV Pilot
Starting Out: In 2016 I saw my first FPV quadrotor video. The ability to go between smooth flight through the trees to aggressive runs through abandoned warehouses amazed me. The concept of being able to fly has always held my interest, and to be able to have the visuals of flying while remaining on the ground enthralled me. I needed this. Fast forward a few months and I am drawing out each component, making sure everything will fit and still maintain the weight ratios that I wanted to accomplish, all while on a ramen diet saving every penny so I could afford my parts.

Tech and gadgetry have come a very long way; sophisticated drones, 4K action cameras, and wireless Bluetooth speakers, it's like a jungle out there in the tech world, and getting lost or completely bogged down by it all is not all that uncommon.

New Gadgets of 2018 You Won't Believe Exist
About a decade ago, I guarantee there were teams and teams of scientists and engineers alike who were effectively brainstorming the very world of tech we all share today. And, while the likes of virtual reality technologies become enhanced each and everyday, in addition to the profuse updates being preformed on the smart home concept, wireless communications, and even space flight, it's safe to say that another ten years down the road will only be the more frightening if the themes from Black Mirror have to say anything about it. Of course, a fictional television series reminiscent of the Twilight Zone shouldn't be effecting how I see the future of technology, but I have to say it's truly daunting when you stop to think about it. These all new brands, products, and inventions are being unveiled over at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2018, but the question still stands: Are these sleek, modern tech toys paving the way for our future, or holistically curtailing it by limiting the possibilities of further technological advancement going into the future?
