Hello, guys. How are you? I don't know about you. But, I am all decked up to share a very interesting story with you regarding the selection of laptop especially when you're in the branch of engineering or about to enter to. Well, the different branches of engineering come with a different requirement. And, in that context, I can't recommend a one laptop for all branch. I have to show you many, so that, you can find the best one according to your requirement.

Well, if you're belong to the chemical, mechanical, robotics, or machine learning field, then you require a laptop that's able to handle a very complex tasks including a smooth 3D graphics rendering. In short, if you buy a gaming laptop, then it would be pretty much effective and better. However, you don't have to look at just gaming laptop all the ways. And, as being students, you may want to use it portable more rather than just a desktop version. In case of that, you need a laptop that's slim and lightweight.

When it comes to a slim design, I recommend the laptop's height shouldn't go beyond 1.8 centimeters. And, when it comes to lightweight nature, I recommend maximum 1.5Kg of weight. If you look properly at the work of engineering students especially of branches like mechanical, chemical, robotics, and machine learning, you will find that most of their work involves process simulation, 3D modelling, mathematical modelling, programming, and many more.

If you look at the laptop's specs in order to find which level CPU and GPUs have power to meet the engineering goals, you should consider the minimum requirements first. For example, the lower-limit for laptop's specs to be used are Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 CPU, 8GB of at least 2400MHz Double Channel DDR4 RAM, 512GB of solid-state drive, and NVIDIA MX330 GPU with 2GB of graphics memory.

In addition to that, the display of the laptop should be brighter enough. In terms of technical words, it should be 300 nits brighter at least at 100% of brightness level. When it comes to screen quality, we cannot just rely on the display nits. We have to count so many other things. The other things that measures the quality of display is screen contrast ratio, screen colour gamut like SRGB, AdobeRGB, NTSC, and DCI-P3. All values should be over 50%. That actually helps you in colour-accurate photo and video editing. However, the engineering students don't need much colour-accurate display because their works are related to computation than designing. You can find the best laptops for engineering students at very low bucks here.

In addition, the external display connection should be governed by thunderbolt ports. However, in many laptops, you will find only Type-C port. And, Type-C port isn't able to transfer data at 40Gbps. But, it can get the job done. Furthermore, the hing of the laptop should be running mostly along the base. There is no direct advantage on the performance side for having such hinge. It's actually help you when you're operating the laptop on your bed. And, such placement of hinge also reduces the maximum possibilities. So, it's recommended. When it comes to flex created on the base of the laptop, you have to make sure that it doesn't get extend to the area of palm rest and touchpad. If so, then it's a question on the laptop's durability.

Furthermore, the keyboard of the laptop should have a backlit. But, make sure that it more than or equal to 2 levels. When it come to air exhausts, they should be placed on the back side instead of the side. And, there should be no cross connection between the power cord and air exhausts. Air intake vents are not much useful unless you're buying a gaming laptop. Many reviewers like Thanalysis and LaptopMag have revealed a very true information about laptops that despite having a air intake vents and using the cooling pad, they found no change in the temperature of machine and performance.

So, the moral is that the product you buy should not be cheap. Otherwise it costs regularly for a long-time. In the comparison with feature-rich expensive product, the second one costs you initially but, it makes your producitivity faster and better compared to the cheaper one. So, that's what I wann reveal.
