What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of buying a smart speaker? What are the things that you want your smart speaker will be capable of doing. You have a few options to choose like Google Home, Apple Home Pod or Amazon Echo device. Each one of them has its own benefits, features and limitations. But the Amazon Echo range of devices provides a lot of specs and connectivity features that other devices provide only up-to a limited extent or not at all.

With Alexa enabled Echo devices, you can control most of the functioning of the devices in your house, right from the screen of your smartphone. You first need to make sure that all the smart devices that you have installed in your home are compatible with Alexa and can fulfill the command given through the app. By just saying a sentence or two like "Alexa, Turn On the Lights'' or "Alexa, Lock the Doors" depending on the device and its usage.

The feature which makes the Echo devices distinguished from its competitors are its Alexa Lights. The various colored lights shown on the top of the speaker or around the device in a ring makes the speaker very unique and special because each color light is trying to tell you something different. There are a total of seven colours shown by Alexa and those are Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Purple and White. Each one has its own importance and benefits.

Alexa Red Light

If your Echo device's ring is emitting solid red colour light, it means that it is trying to tell you that you intentionally or accidentally have muted your device's microphone and now Alexa can't to listen to any of your commands. It also means that your camera has also been turned off. After a few seconds, the red light will turn off, leaving a symbol showing microphone/camera-off in the upper hand corner of the display. You can turn it back on anytime by pressing the microphone button on the top of your device.

How to Turn off Alexa Red Light

While you cannot manually turn off the lights, you can avoid their glowing by never performing that specific for which they will emit or you should maintain a very strong Internet connection to avoid any further problems.

Alexa Light Control

At present, Amazon hasn't given us enough features related to Alexa Light Control. Right now, we barely have any control over the lights. We can only switch off the Green and Yellow light or can avoid other lights to glow by not doing the actions functions related to it.

Alexa Red Light Issues

You might have encountered a situation or will face in future in which you will see a Red Ring of Death with a mute button that you are now unable to un-mute. You tried all the troubleshooting steps like Factory Reset your device or tried a different wall charger, none of them seems to be working.
