Social media has become a crucial part of companies' marketing strategies with 2.80 billion users in 2017. Most social media sites allow you to produce paid adverts or sponsor your posts so that people who aren’t already following you will have a chance to see your content. Great paid social campaigns can help a business dramatically by increasing brand awareness and generating more leads. So, how can you create better adverts to help get the best results?

Decide Your Campaign Objectives and Strategy

Before doing anything, you need to decide what you want to get out of this campaign. There are many different types of goals that social media advertising can help achieve, from increasing traffic to your website, to gaining awareness of your brand, you need to decide what you want and design your advert around this. Most of the social media sites allow you to choose what you want out of the campaign and help you achieve this through different methods. After thinking about what your goals are, you must think about how much you want to spend and how many people you want to reach. The more you spend the more people the advert will appear to; however, you need to set a budget and best work out how to spend it. Some social media platforms are more expensive than others, with Twitter and LinkedIn generally costing much more than sites like Instagram and Facebook, so you need to set a budget and allocate different prices to different sites.

Use the Analytics from Your Free Posts

By looking at the stats of your normal unpaid posts on social media and seeing what content is getting the most engagements and results will give you a good indication of how you should design your advertisements. Look at what type of content has been the most successful and tailor your advert to that.

Use Targeting Features

One of the main benefits of social media advertising is that you are able to effectively target certain demographics easily. Doing this will help your adverts be seen by people who are more likely to be interested in your company and what it offers, which in turn will help generate more. Figure out who you want your advert to be aimed at, what their interests would be and what job titles they might have. For example, if you are a car company, on some social media sites you can set your demographics to be shown to people who say they have an interest in cars.

Test Out Different Ads

In order to find what type of ad works best for you, you must test several ads with smaller audiences and at cheaper costs to start off with to determine what ad is getting the most engagements and results. You can also do this to see which social media platforms are working best for you, as well. Look into your posts on all sites and see where you are getting the most engagements and results. Spend more on those particular sites and less on the ones that aren’t doing, as well.

Design for Mobile

More than 91 percent of social media users are accessing it through a mobile device, which also means that most social media ads are too. This means it is very important that your mobile ads are designed to accommodate mobile viewers. Make sure that any images or videos you incorporate are able to be easily viewed on a pocket-sized device. Ensuring your adverts are mobile friendly will have positive effects, as more people will actually be able to view the advert and this, in turn, will generate more leads for your company.
