The key opportunities the metaverse ecosystem opens up for businesses

Announced 2 years ago and being tested in private mode for more than a year, Horizon Worlds has finally been released by Meta (formerly Facebook). Now, virtual space is considered to be the Second Life. It has expanded out of invite-only beta and the users over age 18 in US and Canada are able to enter an ever-expanding world of connection and exploration.

Back then and these days virtual events have been claimed to be a huge opportunity on a global scale. However, for the past few years, online interaction has become the new normal and companies are already using virtual tools to keep remote work both properly and immersive.

To look from a bigger picture perspective, there are even more considerable opportunities to take in the metaverse ecosystem we could think of. Let’s look at two major aspects — social and business.

Virtual Space Advancing Social Interactions

At the social level, VR alongside other interactive technologies comes across as another step in the collaboration of people. It’s a change that entails a more engaging and truly immersive way to work, collaboration, and communication.

As humans, we’ve started our communication with paper letters and evolved to video calls. Once video calls appeared, the world became a smaller place, outsourcing started to grow and thus the economy boosted. People received better services for less by optimizing the workforce allocation process. Audio and video calls opened vast space for new kinds of companies, the ones without offices that are still highly efficient and successful like GitLab, InVision, Zapier, and many others.

Now, many distributed companies are going to appear since VR has secured its positions. No need to rent an office, spend a gazillion just on infrastructure, or be stuck in traffic jams leaving alone travel expenses.

Slightly moving from the social to business aspects as these are self-complementary concepts.

Virtual Space From Business Perspective

At the business level, it is a new market where everything is new and at the same time obviously huge. A little while ago online shopping boomed since XR technologies in e-commerce brought us to the point that offline retail is dying. Shopping online has become just the usual stuff.

The same thing is happening to VR since it’s widely used in different types of businesses. A car, a fridge, clothes — all of those goods can be already seen and tried through VR graphics and simulations. Such things are boosting the world’s economy. All retail chains have already transited their goods into VR which required a workforce that means extra jobs.

What Are the Prospects to Enter the Metaverse Market?

Horizon is claimed to be a place of “best-in-class social world-building tools” that enables users to create the digital environment on their own. The options to organize large VR events and workrooms are already available.

Nevertheless, we’re observing another social battle here. Meta is definitely a leader, having produced both: its own headset and the biggest social experience, they have a great chance to win this as well. Yet, there are lots of improvements to be made. Namely, monetization, accessibility to everyone, etc.

In general, Horizon Worlds is the first step for Meta to make the metaverse a reality. Regardless, right now each brand can create its own virtual environment suitable for its purposes. As a result, businesses can get more satisfied and loyal end-consumers.

So it’s just a perfect chance to jump into this market and create a customized product for your business. To maintain a competitive edge, embracing new technologies will help to position businesses in a relatively new market.

The best innovative growth strategies are:

creating VR collaboration rooms,

  • producing AR experiences,
  • developing WebGL 3D graphics,
  • app gamification,
  • building internal social networks.
  • To accelerate the metaverse development process, it’s better to have a tech partner that can back up with the right solutions for your business.

    Final Thoughts

The world requires more visual things nowadays, that is why Tik-Tok, YouTube, and other video-based services are so popular, but interactive technologies such as ХR, WebGL are definitely changing everything, as in there we are only limited by our own imagination.

Probably all of the above are changing social behaviors. Yet let’s accept the idea that nowadays technologies make our lives way easier, and Meta as one of the biggest social aggregators sees it like no one else. Combining VR and other interactive technologies with social aspects creates a huge potential for everyone to express personalities, help others, to build an educated and tolerant society. Companies that use similar interactive technologies attract more and create communities of loyal customers around their brand.
