As if Americans freely have money readily available to be stolen by lazy, ignorant, scammers who have no concern for human life, they're now ramping up the romance scams.

Americans and other westerners have always been targets for Africans and others in developing countries, as if the lives and well-being of people in western countries means nothing.

A recent article has not only outlined that younger Ghanians have decided to turn to romance scams. But on TikTok live there are tutorials of how to meet Americans online to target. The men are even targeting men, gender doesn't matter and soon AI will help scammers even more to fool others out of their hard earned money.

In an article from April 2023, read below;

Faced with poverty and unemployment, young Ghanaian men are turning to online romance frauds

The school drops-outs who dabble in identity theft and romance scams on social media are known in Ghana as the ‘Sakawa boys’.

As a teenager, Kasim was the star striker of his school’s football team in Ghana, earning him the moniker Starflex. But the 22-year-old has since abandoned both his studies and football for a vocation that keeps him up at night: finding and luring victims into online romance scams.

In one bedroom in Accra, Starflex and his two friends Suleiman, 19, and Patrick, 18, huddle over their phones and laptops, exchanging intimate messages with “pals”, their code name for potential victims they meet on dating sites.

Starflex and his sidekicks are known as the Sakawa boys – meaning “putting inside” in the Hausa language, a young generation of school drops-outs in Ghana who dabble in identity theft and romance scams on social media.

Their activities can be traced to the Yahoo boys, or fraudsters in Nigeria. Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority estimates victims have lost 49.5 million Ghanaian cedi ($4.5 million) to identity theft schemes since the beginning of the year.

Starflex is posing as Joan, a 23-year-old masters’ student from Turkey, while chatting with an American realtor he befriended on online dating site Zoosk.

As a person with a Ghana Sim card and TikTok account that was created in Ghana, often the content that comes onto my time line is that of Ghanian users. One day while scrolling the social media application, I came upon a Ghanian having a tutorial on how to find Americans online to scam.

From the country that screams they're the most moral humans in the world when it comes to homosexuality, scamming, corruption and crime is ignored.

In an entire thread on Twitter, Ghanians openly laughed and mocked an American woman who asked for help translating Twi into English. He Ghanian lover was using her for citizenship, cheating and insulting her with his friends.

The Ghanian she asked refused to translate for her, while hundreds of Ghanians joined in on the Twitter thread, mocking and laughing at American women. Even calling them dangerous and saying it was better for the Ghanian man to scam her then to get physically hurt.

When statistics show Ghanian men are more physically abusive towards women and in 2023 in Ghana more Ghanian men have killed their lovers than any women has hurt a Ghanian man.

From June 2023 in Ghana;

Spousal Murders: 7 Times Jilted Men Killed Their Partners

It is horrifying. It is shocking. It is dreadful. But despite society’s outrage at such cowardly acts, spousal murders or killings do not appear to be going away anytime soon.

Several cases of spousal killings have been reported since the beginning of this year, 2023 and the question is: What would make a relationship that was once full of love and life, suddenly turn sour and end on a bitter and cruel note.

In this article, The Ghana Report recounts some cases of spousal murders that sent shockwaves across the country.

The ‘Romance Scheme’ Marrying For Citizenship

For the most part British and American citizens are the biggest targets, White skinned people are also the first targeted. Even if you are Black in certain African countries you’re considered the White person. I hate to be the one to write about this, the ‘Romance Scheme’.

I lost count of how many Africans have asked me to ‘hook them up’ with one of my friends. I don’t do that at all, I don’t play games like that with anyones life. There are thousands of beautiful, single available African women, even in Ghana after they completed the most recent census count they reported there were over 900,000 more women than men.

Men in Ghana seem to be proud to cheat on their wives, of course someone will comment and insult me and say that I’m lumping all of them together. Whelp everyone knows that nothing is 100% if you want to dispute that show me your statistics. I’ve written about parenting, about children a man will have with several women, that won’t be known until the time of his funeral.

It happens more often than people want to honestly admit it, embassies all over the world have had to add warnings to their websites.

Between Canada and the United States, millions of dollars worth of high end cars are stolen and either found in Ghana or on their way to Ghana. It's almost like the Ghana government doesn't care about these crimes because there are no laws being implemented, no one being warned and this is often a crime blamed on Nigerians.

A young lady has recently taken to social media to narrate how she lost her iPhone in Washington DC, US Taking to Tik Tok, the lady recounted that she tracked her missing phone using Apple's find iPhone feature only to locate it at a shop in Ghana.

In an attempt to locate the missing phone, the lady tried calling the phone but it was switched off. She then decided to track the phone using Apple's find iPhone feature. To her surprise, she found out the phone was located in a phone shop in Ghana. The young lady's ordeal sparked reactions among netizens.

I remember this case and it appeared on Ghana Twitter Instagram, Ghanians thought this was funny. Not one of them shown remorse for an American woman having her phone stolen in the United States and showing for sale in Ghana. This wasn't funny and frankly more people would be ashamed of their country, however they were not, they thought this was a great thing to happen.

Pretty much like the arrest of a Ghanian living in the United Kingdom who was extradited from the UK to the US to face charges.

Ghanaian Social Media Influencer, Hajia4Real Extradited to US in $2M Romance Scam

Ghanaian social media influencer Mona Faiz Montrage, popularly known as Hajia4Reall has been extradited from the United Kingdom to the US for allegedly swindling over $2 million from older, single American men and women in a twisted lonely hearts scam, federal prosecutors said Monday.

Also this year (2023) another Ghanian male was sentenced to only 2 years for romance scamming in the US. He's the son of a Ghanian politician. The government of Ghana seems as if they couldn't care less, Ghanians think that they're citizens should be all set free.

Social media platforms like TikTok are happily teaching Ghanians how to locate and scam unsuspecting Americans and other westerners.
