According to this theory, the building blocks of life, such as amino acids and nucleotides, were formed on Earth through a series of chemical reactions.

The Miller-Urey experiment conducted in the 1950s showed that simple organic compounds, including amino acids, could be formed in a simulated environment that resembled the early Earth. This experiment provided evidence that the building blocks of life could have been formed through natural processes.

The next step in the origin of life is the formation of self-replicating molecules, which are the basis of all living organisms. The RNA world hypothesis suggests that RNA, rather than DNA, was the first self-replicating molecule.
