Every March event Apple has held in the last few years has been around hardware and this year could signal a change from within the iPhone maker as they set their sights on a new streaming service called "Paid Apple News subscription service"

Many Apple fans have been waiting for news of new hardware including the rumored updated iPad mini, AirPods, or long-anticipated AirPower charger.

BuzzFeed’s John Paczkowski has already predicted the date, something he has been right about for the last several years.

Apple is set to launch a series of new tech products in the coming months and we take a look at some of these below.

Apple Prime

Multiple news outlets are now confirming that Apple will announce a new premium subscription service on the 25th of March in California.

Set to feature, as yet, several unknown celebrities, the event is set to see Apple’s long-rumored streaming video service announced.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple signed a production partnership with Oprah Winfrey for the streaming video service.

This news comes after the tech company showed up at this year's CES, something that has not happened for years.

There are currently no rumors on price. I guess we will find this out at the event!

iPad Mini 5?

Apple's iPad Mini 5 has been rumored for months.

While reported to still be using the lightning connector, the upgraded iPad Mini 5 is said to still have the 3.5 mm headphone jack; however, the location of the rear microphone might change to the top center.

It is reported that the new iPad Mini is going to focus very much on low price, while featuring either the A10 Fusion or A10X Fusion chipset so keeping things simple could help Apple sell more in the long run.

Apple has recently registered seven new iPad models with the Eurasian Economic Commission, which typically foreshadows the release of new Apple products.

The DigiTimes has reported that Apple has contacted two suppliers to produce touchscreen panels for two new iPads: the iPad Mini 5 and a refreshed entry-level iPad.

Apple Airpod's 2?

Any hope for the release of Apple's Airpod's has been well and truly dashed with many of the main media websites reporting they will now not be out until late 2019.

The Second Gen earbuds were originally expected at the March event and are said to be coming in new colors and are now expected to launch alongside new iPads in the fall event, sometime in September.

Several sources claim that the wireless charging case could also be coming to consumers and will work with the original product.

Cupertino Location

The location of the event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater, located at Apple Park in Cupertino, a report claimed on Tuesday.

Apple Prime, which is a combination subscription, bundling Magazines, video, and Apple Music could also be announced at the event.

Apple has several places that they use to hold these types of events including the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco and the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco.

They have also hosted several events at the Flint Center, Cupertino

What do we think?

Having covered many Apple launches before, it's hard to say whether there is a surprise announcement on the horizon.

Apple has sometimes denied anything is coming at an event and then spectacularly announced a range of new hardware catching everyone by surprise.

It's clear that something might be happening with many websites saying Apple has always announced hardware in March and others saying it will not happen.

All we really know is that Apple has plans for new hardware and they will announce it when they are ready.
