There are many cheap 27-inch game monitors with refresh rates over 60 Hz, and FreeSync, available at less than $300. But most use twisted-nematic (TN) panels from old-school. In its so-called Lunar Light color scheme (Model AW2521HFL), the AlienwFare 25 is white and black, as are recent Aurora desktops from Alienware (as well as the Sony PlayStation 5). The 25-inch screen is flat and has little or no bezel with just three edges of a thin black strip. The logo Alienware features a narrow black band on the bottom edge.

In the back, the majority of the monitor has white plastic, black ports and on the joint that connects the stand to the screen. The black inserts. It's an impressive look, and a nice way away from most monitors, often boxy, in black looks, even many elite gamers.

The screen is a 1.920-by-1.080 pixel Fast IPS panel with adaptive synchronization capabilities for both Nvidia G-Sync compatible and AMD FreeSync. The High Dynamic Range (HDR) signal is not supported. It's rated for a maximum 240Hz refresh rate as noted earlier. It's not as high as desktop gaming monitors (360Hz panels have recently been launched), but it's going up and aims to drive games at very high frame rates in serious esports.
