Inflation in 2024
One day during my senior year of high school, I sat in my English class when our school guidance counselor walked in. It was time to fill out our FAFSA applications for college. Along with the applications, she handed out papers that went over collected data about how our finances should look like depending on how much education we gained. The important lesson taken from it was obvious, a college degree was crucial to be successful.

The Ghost in the White House
Science states that our first memories occur when we're at least three or so. However, my first memories took place way younger than that. My earliest memory is my grandma rocking me in a rocking chair in the kitchen. I was only a few months old. I remember a gum commercial playing on the tv. You know, the old ones with twins going around singing about double mint gum. I even remember my play swing in the corner of the room. I don't know how I remember this, but it is so vivid even after all these years.

Hitting the Road
When I was a kid, one of my favorite times of the year was the beginning of Summer. Asides from the fact that this meant two months out of school and sleeping until noon, it meant that it was time for us to pack up to head out on our annual summer vacation. Every year meant a new location. Sometimes we'd go to visit out of state relatives, and sometimes it was just to have fun. Either way, I knew I was going on an adventure.

My body, my struggles
I've just done something that always sends a sense of terror through me whenever it comes up, I stepped on the scale. I'll be honest, after the results, I am feeling even more terror. My weight has always been a sensitive subject for me, though up until the last few years, has never actually been out of control. I'm trying to think of how I got to this place, but I know I have to regain control.

"How did I get here?" she asked, wiping her eyes. Julia had laid down for a nap, only to wake up in a place that was unfamiliar. For a moment she felt afraid, but that fear quickly faded as she looked around. Surrounding her was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen. She looked around with amazement.

Quiet On the Set
A few weeks ago, I learned that ID was airing a documentary about Nickelodeon. As someone who grew up on Nick, I was eager to watch. In recent years, there have been a number of actors and actresses come forward with stories from there times with the network. After watching all four episodes, I was saddened to discover the terrible things that happened behind these shows that brought me so much joy as a kid. I admire those who were brave enough to share their stories.
