The reality tender

A master of illusions

Skilled mind-bender

Serving his delusions

An evil puppeteer

Projects his pain and fear

Fogs up mirrors with smoke

Sniffs for wounds to poke

Littered with bad intentions

Dishonorable mentions

Harsh words repeat like a song

Suddenly everything is wrong

What you see, what you hear, who you are

Boundaries pushed so far

Systematically he takes control

Rapes your very soul

He takes

And breaks

All that you hold dear

Wears you down

With a calculated smear

As he struts around

Creating mayhem and confusion

While you wither in seclusion

Alone and broken

No words left unspoken

Yet he does not hear

Nor feel

Nothing is clear

Life becomes bleak and surreal

I no longer know who I am

Where I stand

How to be

In this grim new reality

Poisoned, he runs through my mind

I grapple to find

What’s left of my health

A semblance of self

Withdrawal is harsh

While leaving this farce

Yet upon facing these closing doors

Your reality is once again yours
