The midnight moon begins to weep,
The darkness calling in mournful song,
A fate of lovers called to tryst amongst the briar heap.

The sharpness of limbs, tongues, and thorns slicing deep
Pricking in the black, knowing not the pleasure in pain,
The midnight moon begins to weep.

Intertwining flesh with wantonness seep,
Of light and moonlit play,
A fate of lovers called to tryst amongst the briar heap.

Will thou not be forever mine, a love so endless deep,
When a broken face contorts in breathless sigh,
The midnight moon begins to weep.

Time awaits when promises wont keep,
A burnt candle down to wick,
A fate of lovers called to tryst amongst the briar heap.

Dalliances bubble and in fresh warmth reap,
Before they turn to ash,
The midnight moon began to weep,
