Spirit Bursts into Life
The journey of the soul
Spectacularly
Flowing through eternity
In a body made of flesh and bone
Far away from home, I roam
With no memory of
The harking herald or the peaceful dove
Spirit cast into form
A child is born
He is named
And tamed
He conforms to humankind
Leaving behind
Knowledge of his divine nature
To which he will seek to find
He becomes driven by his mind
To seek, forever seek
That which we are
We are all made of stars
Life is light speed
Goes by fast
Love is the only way to succeed
For it is only love that lasts
We came as spirits descending upon earth
Through gravity and humanity
Some have questioned their worth
They may have believed stories and fables
That left them feeling stuck and unable
To live their dreams
Outside the paradigm
Of political themes
Wasted precious time
Time
Took hold
Kept people busy until they were old
Where did it go? All the fleeting moments met
And let
To wither in the cold
Shadow of ego
The masks we wear as we go
Through each life
Repeating the stories we know
We’re particular
Toward the familiar
Who is it that is attached
That latches on to his impermanent body
As if his life depended on it
Who is the one fearing
In the mind’s quiet solemn clearing
We see that it is ego who clings
For when the bell rings
It is time to go home
To the eternal sacred call of Aum
Ascend to the light
A star you were born
Star reignites
Again, you are
A spirit in flight
Formless, eternal light
Around and around, we go
Into the great unknown
