A few months ago, I published a story titled, "Five Ideas For Working From Home Virtually, Part 1." I know how important it is for many people to find remote work, so I want to give others ideas on remote positions in the job market.

You can click on the above link for the full story, but to give you a quick recap, those ideas included the following work-from-home and freelance jobs.

  • Freelance Writing
  • Website/Graphic Design
  • Social Media Management
  • Virtual Assistant
  • Data Entry

Are you looking for my ideas? Are you trying to find what clicks and sparks your interest? I totally understand, which is why I want to share five more ideas for working from home virtually. So, let's get right down to business with the list of ideas, shall we?

1. Medical Billing and Coding

Exploring the world of medical billing and coding gives you the opportunity to help others by working with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Your duties range from assigning accurate diagnosis codes to processing healthcare claims. If you have excellent organizational skills and know how to pay attention to detail while respecting confidentiality, you may enjoy looking into medical billing and coding at home.

2. Virtual Bookkeeper

Another idea is to work from home as a virtual bookkeeper for businesses. As a virtual bookkeeper, you're responsible for tasks such as processing bill payments, preparing invoices, managing taxes, and creating financial reports. You may also be responsible for your client's day-to-day banking activities. If you enjoy math, organization, and finance, a position virtual bookkeeper may be in your best interest, as well as your client's best interest.

3. Customer Service Representative

A job as a remote customer service representative is a great idea for social butterflies who prefer to work from home. Depending on your position, you may be handling phone calls, live chats, emails, or all of the above. Your duties as a customer service representative are to answer questions, resolve issues, check the status of orders, and forward customers to appropriate channels as necessary. You have the opportunity to create a smooth shopping experience for customers from the comfort of your own home.

4. E-Commerce Store

If you have a knack for generating sales and enjoy being your own boss, you can always open your own e-commerce store. From reselling retro toys on eBay to offering handmade items on Etsy to showcasing your art on Redbubble, the possibilities are endless. Other platforms include Poshmark, Amazon, and CafePress, or you can purchase your own domain for CMS platforms such as Shopify. By the way, if you are taking a job as a remote customer service representative, this is a great experience for helping the customers of your own store.

5. Offer a Course

Why not share what you know by offering an online course in your area of expertise? Use platforms such as Udemy, Podia, and TrainerCentral, as well as Teachable and Mighty Networks as you gain more experience, to offer courses on cooking, painting, writing, playing an instrument, dog training, or woodworking. You can even offer a course on how to start a business and make money from home! If you have an educational degree and experience in teaching or tutoring, you could use this to start your own course from home.
