They Could Live On
When We Propel Them To

If You don't take the stories that You find
Residing within Your mind
And use ink on the page to let them lie
When Your time comes, Your stories will go with You
They'll never have had a chance to live and breathe
Like You will eventually, Your stories will die

Yikes! The thought of that - what a motivation!!
Very introspective. I love when poetry is a top story.
This reads like a horror story to me. I've never gotten past wondering what untold stories there are in graveyards. Congrats on the Top Story! Great poem!

hey hey hey!!!!! You got Top story!!! Congrats my friend!!!
Exactly!! How I wish my grandmother wrote down her stories. She had so many, and now, like her, they are gone.
Truly a deeper meaning behind this I love it π₯°
Glad this made top story
Definitely the truth. Nicely penned. π
This is just perfect. So so true. I always feel that even if a story is never completely finished or you don't think it's perfect or whatever hang ups are stopping someone from publishing it...putting it out there...they need to just let it go our there...or else we'd never know what comes from it! Congrats on a beautifully written Top Story!
Yessss, the stories are alll ours!!
Hehehehe so glad you decided to publish this! So true, when we die, our stories die with us
I feel perhaps stories are like fish eggs, few reach maturity.
I loved this in the comments section was just about to say you should publish it!! Glad you did!! π
Yep. Get them out!
