Stephen Kramer Avitabile
Bio
I'm a creative writer in the way that I write. I hold the pen in this unique and creative way you've never seen. The content which I write... well, it's still to be determined if that's any good.

I Have My Dogs To Thank For My Writing Career
Alert! This is Stephen Avitabile… not Stephen King. So, when I refer to my ‘writing career’ it’s a work in progress. Not a spectacle. But I do feel I am heading in the right direction. Things feel as if they have begun to take off. It’s nothing major, but at the time of writing this, I have had three stories accepted into two publications. In submitting to various other publications and contests I have moved on to second rounds in judging multiple times… so things are moving along.

I Want To Share My WorkTop Story - July 2023
“I want to share my work!” Scandium shouted as he marched into the kitchen. Nomlie, the magenta-colored fairy, fluttered across Scandium’s face and landed on the coffee machine. She perched there, all seven inches of her, an inquisitive look on her face.

Letting The Plants Grow
The gardeners come on Monday mornings, usually around 11 A.M. I try to put the food out for the birds and squirrels long before then, so they have ample time to eat before the roar of lawnmowers scares them away. I’ve been doing that for a few years now. Bags of bird food with sunflower seeds and other seeds. Put out peanuts, pecans, walnuts for the squirrels. I give them water too… and while I have the hose… I water some of the plants and grass in the yard.

Skin singed, toes torched, fingers fractured, body battered, bones bruised. Scottie dragged his corpse along the hard and unforgiving dirt. Life had gotten to him again. Life kept getting to him and kept beating him down, holding him down. But he pressed on.

Serving Up Tea
January 24th, 1924 - The wooden walls were rough and uneven. The ceiling was low. All sorts of odors lingered in the room from the night before. One young man swept up a pile of debris over in the corner. Gloomy, pale light struggled to enter the dark establishment through several foggy windows.

Finally Published
Okay, the title gave it away. I am finally published! I did not go for the ambiguous title. I went with the very obvious one. I wanted to share my first ever short story to be in a publication, but I also thought, can this be used to inspire?

The Life Of GingerTop Story - June 2023
Ginger was a Minpin… but almost nobody knew she was a Minpin just by looking at her. She was all tan (ginger-colored hair) which happens with Minpins but seems to be seldom that it happens. She had her tail snipped a bit too short and she had big ears, people often commented how she looked like a little deer. They’d ask if she was a chihuahua, some type of terrier, some type of mix. Nope, Ginger is a Minpin.

Coach's Son
I struggled with addiction as a kid… that’s right… TV. I couldn’t get enough of it. Still haven’t really kicked the habit. But because of this, I saw all the TV shows. I saw all the families. I saw all the TV dads. I saw all the talks… dad to son… dad to daughter… dad to Arnold and Willis Drummond… who, of course, became Mr. Drummond’s legal sons once they took on his last name.
