One WiFi Connection at a Time

Embracing Freedom, Flexibility, and Adventure in the World of Remote Work

I arise to the melody of birds singing brightly outside my window, a lovelyulous nudge that I am not compelled to being inside an ordinary office. Being a digital nomad, my office is wherever I decide it to be: a tiny cafe in U bud, Bali, an energetic co-working space in Berlin, or a swimsuit in a secluded beach in Thailand.

Picking up my laptop, I rush out my home and get to the nearby coffee shop that I love to be in where the smell of freshly brewed coffee is surrounding me. I go for my strongest latte and make myself comfortable in a cosy corner by the window, enjoying the fresh air and the green bush outside. Being able to add the flexibility of working wherever I want within a radius of a dependable internet connection is what makes my life as a digital nomad beautiful.

I sign into my virtual office, click on the job list and start working on the tasks that need to be completed today. Hence, today I will be on a video conferencing with a client from Australia. After that, I will participate in a brainstorming session among my teammates who are remotely based in the United States. The flexibility I benefit from when making plans is ideally convenient for some phased operations that apply worldwide.

Once I have worked effectively throughout my morning hours, I make sure to take a break to go walking in the neighbourhood. I stroll through an animated city through which I take in all the colours, textures, and sounds provided for me by a new destination. So being a digital nomad has helped me see the life and cultures of the different people in the world, which definitely make my life and my work extraordinary.

In the afternoon, I turn back to my desk space and pen down more on my ongoing tasks. The positive aspect of remote work is that there is really much freedom for us to adjust our working time to our optimal levels. Often, I work on and on, either being supported by the thrill and joy of creating something new, or stimulated by a myriad of images and ideas that pop up in my mind. Occasionally, I spend some me-time to refuel and discover and I also remember that that I can always do it later for the best.

The last moment, sun sets on my work and I go to enjoy a drink at the rooftop bar. I have a drink in a hand and I see the sparkling lights of the city down below looking at the kind of free-wheeling liberties that this career gives me. One of the amazing things that I've enjoyed most is that now being self-employed gave me the opportunity to work and travel simultaneously. As a self-employed worker, I pursued my passions and simultaneously, the new experiences helped me expand my horizons.

I spent time retrospectively and the emotional roller coaster that encompassed the initial leap to leaving as a digital nomad until the point of present and all the things that happened in between. Nevertheless, doing away with all the familiar aids hasn't always been the easiest thing on the planet, and yet I can assure you that the gains from the challenge exceed the hassle. There are such a sense of liberty, creativity, and the deep feeling of connection that this nomad lifestyle offers to me, and nothing else could compare.

When I hike downstairs, I realise the miles of gratitude the eyes and the soul have gained in this way of life. I cannot boast of working from a traditional office or having a routing time schedule, but still, this nomadic life can offer me nothing rather more. The world has been my playground during this time I have traveled and nurturing my purpose.
