Try Again and Again
Ashlyn was suddenly standing on the sidewalk in front of her apartment building, with the full moon shining high in the sky. She had no memory of how she got there, or how long she had been standing there. Ashlyn was just there, standing in the slightly chilly air, and she wasn’t alone. A man was sitting alone on a bench several feet away, his eyes facing downward and with his hands folded in his lap. Chances were high that he didn’t know Ashlyn was there. No, she knew that he didn’t know that she was there.

Amy whistled as she walked through her front yard, looking for any sticks she could pick up and throw into the pile she and her brother were making. They had a big windstorm recently; as such, all the trees in their yard had suffered some damage in some loss of sticks. Or perhaps losing those sticks was a good thing since their trees probably needed to be pruned anyway. Amy wasn't sure.

Tarron’s plan was honestly a good one. They discussed it with Councilor Belanor the next morning and instantly began to implement it. Councilor Belanor sent Ruith back to Malnora with the order to send out a selected number of elves across the Faye Expanse, including himself. Some of them were heading to seek help from elven towns, while the others went to recruit dwarves.
