Bio
A toxicologist who secretly hopes to be a full-time author. One novel in progress with too many other ideas taking up space in my head until I get around to writing them. Some of those ideas end up here.

The steady rumble of an engine eased her back to consciousness, but the harsh vibrations of her body against an unforgiving surface jolted her back to reality. Anna’s eyes shot open to darkness. Complete darkness. Panic spread through her veins like wildfire. She tried to move, but her arms and legs refused. She struggled against her restraints until her wrists and ankles burned in desperation. A sudden jerk forced her head to hit the floor, knocking a memory loose. The image of a man standing in the dim lighting of the dingy parking garage flashed before her. Anna didn’t recognize him. He was wearing a black ski mask, but his icy blue eyes pierced through her, even now in her mind.

Frozen Ghosts
The freezing rain pelts the earth with the precision of a freshly sharpened knife. A fortuitous artist, the rain delicately sculpts its next project among the trees of the orchard. A glassy coat drapes every surface, a crystalline window to a moment stuck in time. The trees desperately cling to their hard-earned profits of the season, but acquiesce under the weight of the artist's intentions, no longer capable of salvaging their efforts. The cunning artist robs the trees of their bounty in a hushed heist.

Winter's Thief
A nimble thief descends from the sky, breaking free of its confinement. It steals away the sound as it falls to the ground. It restrains any noise, holding it hostage between the infinitesimal flakes that form a white blanket laid gently across every surface. A clever coating that muffles and mutes the world.

Torn Pages
The words of my first story are forever lost in a landfill somewhere on Long Island. Maybe they still exist, if they haven't already been burned to ashes layered into the quickly forgotten history of mundane life. The pages disintegrated, piled on top of each other, just discarded trivial pieces of everyday life from more than twenty years ago.

Frisbee Folly
Back and forth. Back and forth. The yellow disc soared, wobbling across the sky, taunting me as I sat patiently next to the park bench. Josh's mumbling filled my ears, but my focus remained on the yellow disc. Every time the disc flew above the grass, I received a pleasant whiff of excitement. I held my nose high in the air, catching all of the scents as they drifted by.
