humanity
If nothing else, travel opens your eyes to the colorful quilt that is humankind.
Homeland
This would be a long story, if I told it right. Enough for a full scale memoir. It begins with my sister’s birth in 1989, and it never really ends. But at the heart of it is a trip to the Republic of Ireland in 2011.

The Midnight Madness
Amidst the quiet hum of the small town of Willow Creek, nestled beneath a canopy of ancient trees, there stood a carnival—an ephemeral spectacle that materialized only under the veil of night. Within its labyrinthine confines, where the scent of cotton candy mingled with the faint whispers of the wind, there lay a sinister secret—a ghost train that traversed the darkness, its passengers destined for a journey beyond the realms of the living.
India, My Love
It was my first time in India! Feeling jet-lagged after a long, trans-continental flight, I was tired, nervous, and excited.

The little island off the coast of the Caribbean known as Haiti, is easily a place where foreigners would call this “The land of purgatory.” An experience that I had the opportunity to embark on at a time when it was considered “safe” to travel there.

Snow shimmers in -24 degrees. Trees that usually wear their forest green coats are dusted by frost, looming tall and piercing the pastel coloured sky like sentinels for a citadel of silence. Finland is made of frozen moments, standing so still in between breaths of icy air. It’s serene. It’s like a dream. It’s the most enchanting thing I’ve ever seen.
In My Wildest Dreams
If you had told eight-year-old me that one day I'd be living out my dream of travelling to different states and facilities to care for exotic animals, I would've been overwhelmed with a mix of joy and disbelief, thinking it was too good to be true.
Parallel universe
Title: Echoes of Existence In the bustling city of Metropolis, where towering skyscrapers kissed the sky and neon lights painted the streets, lived Alex, a young and ambitious architect. His dreams soared higher than the tallest buildings he designed, driven by a relentless passion for his craft.

In 2016, I had never left the country. I was entering my second year at Eastern Michigan University after taking a four-year break from college and had only spent time in the United States on short trips. I was studying international affairs, so studying abroad was required at some point in my academic track. There were a few options, but a class I was taking through the winter semester offered a relatively inexpensive two-week spring trip to Guatemala, and given the content of the class, it seemed like the best fit for me.
North East India
North East India, a land of enchantment, beckons with its mystical allure. Nestled in the eastern Himalayas, this region is a treasure trove of natural wonders, vibrant cultures, and unexplored vistas. Let me paint you a vivid picture of this captivating realm:

As I look through the window and see a fresh layer of snow sitting on the bare branches of the trees, the ground, and the neighbour’s roof, I need to remind myself that it’s already April. Right. This is spring in Finland.
