No 2023 Summer Short Story Fiction Series ? 🙁 It was such a huge draw, fun & competitive!

And stories have to be at least 500 words and poetry at least 100

Pretty much accept anything but not to much of sexual and gore

I've experienced this so far with Mike Singleton - Mikeydred, C Rommial Butler, Stephen Kramer Avitable and D Alexandra Porter. They get the notification that I've commented but my comment wouldn't be there. Can someone please help me out?

I would also like to offer my poetry forms as inspiration for poetry challenges. ;-)

Hello team! I was wondering if you would consider allowing members to delete their own stories without the hassle of contacting supporting. Honestly, it's a pain, especially since responses can be nonexistent at times. Other platforms allow it, so why can't we do it here?

Are there still plans for a summer series of fiction challenges?

Any more fiction challenges coming up?

I'm very happy to see more activity going on within the Vocal community and look forward to finding more writers I can 'subscribe' to, as well as greater transparency in the withdrawal process and the blocking feature!! My biggest complaint is that people love to steal my (and others) stories or just throw them into AI and change two or three words so COPYLEAKS marks them as 50% original, which is STILL plagiarism.

Very happy to see all the different improvements and tweaks from the team! I’d love to learn more about how Top Stories work, the behind the scenes of the process, how stories are chosen or rejected, how they come to the team’s attention, and what guidelines or criteria the stories have to meet, if any. I don’t want people to just write for the bonuses and stop writing what they want to, so I see how this request might be answered by silence. I do have a lot of questions, though. I’ve noticed what seem to be inconsistencies (not inherently bad) and I feel like the term, Top Story, implies an appeal to some objective criteria, and I’m just curious about it all.

Hey All, has the option to post anonymously ever been considered? Love the read algorithm update.

Aren't these calls every two weeks now? Also, I don't have a need for the apps as I can get everything from my phone browser, so don't need any more apps. Would love to know the mechanics of the read algorithm though. And would love Vocal to at least acknowledge the story overwriting in their stats (reported two years back). Could we have number of reads in the story (it doesn't have to be real time)? Thanks Keep up the good work

Hey everyone! Vocal, thanks for making the platform totally amazing! Happy about the read time update! I’d love to see more info on how our submissions are reviewed before publishing. Is someone assigned to our specific account or is it whoever is working for the day? Or is it so etching totally different? Sometimes my submissions are posted faster than the read time, and sometimes it takes a while. Just curious on the protocol. It would also be awesome to know how things operate on the mysterious other end, if you can share! It would be so fun to read about employees– get to know the faces behind all that you do. That could allow us the opportunity to celebrate everyone who is working so hard behind the scenes (or comments off, but be able to send a heart) I always love to see/get to know the people behind the product. Thanks for all you do to make Vocal a kick ass place to be! 💫🙏🏽

Hello all, Regarding the Short and Sweet Challenge, is there a guide or standard (dictionary) as to the use of abbreviations and contractions for the judging? Will invented words be disqualified? If contractions are allowed will the apostrophe be considered a character? Inquiring minds would like to know if you can share. Examples: don't, we'll. Thank you

Hi Vocal, thank you for all these updates. 😊 Challenge idea I posted on discord called Second Chance. This would be for previous fictional challenge stories that did not place or win. Creators would be limited to one entry and turn around time would be a week so it would not overload your staff. It would breath some air into older stories especially from earlier fictional challenges that had extremely high volumes of entries. Thanks 😊

Regarding the spam entries into the challenges: Is it possible to add a simple command for the challenge entries like a required phrase at the beginning or end of the entry or maybe in the subtitle (not in the story itself) that shows that the entry has at least adhered to that basic requirement? It may help you Vocal team narrow down the scavenger hunt for spam and block some of the immediate spammers. (Sorry all I just woke up and my brains not working yet to be articulate 😅

Hello (and good morning from my time zone) I just wanted to say that is great about the update to the read time accuracy! Looking forward to seeing that. I have nothing else to bring up, just wanted to say you all are doing a fantastic job. (Oh also got my Top Story shirt and wore it, felt like a million bucks.)
