We All Scream

Where you come from, plum

dollops blot the sky.

Crumbs of cosmic snow, like

cookie dough

crepe the sugar cone of

space and

interlace the chocolate dark of time.

You’ve traveled far

past pop rock stars

and nebula of

cotton candy radar, spared

with lemon zest and lime…

and though they say

no one can hear a

scream through space

our squeals derived from

scoops of milky, caramel rave have

baited you from

all that way (to)

seek the silky, dreamy taste.

Yes, I scream

(you scream)

we all scream for ice cream as it

dribbles down our face…

sprinkling into cosmic stardust,

bringing childhood upon us,

for here on Earth -

(yes, somewhere in this)

sherbet universe, our

Rocky Roads and woes of life do

lose their power (as we)

joyously devour

frozen yogurt, ice cream, &

s o r b e t .

And because you look like baby Yoda,

perhaps we’ll start with java mocha -

a coffee bean delight that sparks like

wonder on your tongue;

your little heart will flutter

for you’re a complex being (and the)

caffeine won’t make you shutter…

so on to the next thing, Spaceling -

we’ve only just begun.

Oh, perhaps you’ll fancy butterscotch…

or we can kick it up another

notch and pile

scoops of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups on top into the sky…

or we can make a fruitier selection

the beauty here is that

this icy treat can be

a different vibe than just confection -

it can even be a mix of both,

like apple pie that is

served a la mode,

or floral & sophistiqué...

with waves of coral (like ✨the break of day✨) so

auroral…(almost like) a portal to another world and time:

with hibiscus & delicious,

orange-peel zest and

tangy, lemon thyme.

And if you fancy sweetness that’s nondairy,

sherbert & sorbet are

light and crisp (like water drops),

...and airy.

But then again -

let’s stick to all the milk and cream…

for I know something straight

out of a dream:

cherry's jubilee (at least, to me)

is truthfully

like youth & glee mixed in

a bottle...

like fairies dancing on my tongue -

like almond kissed with berry love and rum...

reminding me of when I used to

dawdle freely in the moonbeams (eating ice cream by)

the sea.

So, run, run, run, Spaceling,

I want to hear your longing echo through

the stars...

you can crumble candy bars on top, for toppings -

we even have a candy bar called "Mars".

Dream, dream, dream, Spaceling,

I want to hear you mumble in

your sleep...

tell me everything you wish, Spaceling,

I want to hear you scream for ice cream topped

with Lucky Charms and chocolate bark, so sweet.

We can dare to do great things, my friend,

for ice cream has a way of making

all our woes a bit more lovely and

ok...

ice cream has a way of changing

"Sunday scaries" into sundaes, love -

(complete with sprinkles and with cherries...)

causing life to be a bit more bubbly and

more pleasantly gourmet.

And if the day does come, ✨my little Spaceling✨, that

you want to fly away...
