Love in the wrong place
I feel it as hunger
and answer it:
a chocolate bar dipped in a jar of peanut butter,
a punnet of strawberries and cream,
breakfast in a nice cafe;
salty macaroni with blue cheese later -
5 stars, I tell everyone, you must try it.
Luxuries I can't afford
fuelling my late night
scribbling marathons
I gain weight on my unswayed hips
you're looking well, love -
all the while my heart is shrinking, shrinking,
starving.
