There's said to be a fine line between dreams and reality. But what if there isn't one at all?

Why are you looking for me?

You left me, remember?

Yet thoughts of me bedevil you

Is it guilt? Is it remorse?

~~~~~
You try to catch my eye
As I weave in and out of the crowd
Surreptitiously watching you
~~~~~

You're becoming delirious

Uncertain if I'm real

Or hallucinatory

I seem to be omnipresent

~~~~~
It is so messed up
Because there you stand
In front of your bride
Engulfed by thoughts of me
Amidst your wedding
~~~~~

I laugh in exultation

~~~~~
Now try reading this from bottom to top 😊
Author's Notes:
This was written based on a dream I had a few weeks ago. It may not be real but I love being delusional! 😋
    So beautifully written! Loved it.
  • Dharrsheena, this is exceptional work. It stands on its own, but then to realize at the end that you wrote this as an inverse? Wow! ‘Why are you looking for me?’ So much better to be the one who got away than the one who stayed. 💗
    But is it true that dreams are a reflection of our thoughts? Maybe this wasn't a delusion. Lol😀. Well composed poem.
