rimson dawn,
She stood, her spirit strong, yet worn,
From lands of gold and whispers old,
Her journey's tale, so oft untold.

Captured by chains, her freedom fled,
From African shores to seas of dread,
In shackles bound, her soul confined,
To a fate of anguish, so unkind.

Upon the wavvers, a tempest's rage,
A hurricane's fury, an ocean's stage,
Tumult and chaos, screams pierce the air,
As winds and waves, in torment, tear.

Through the chaos, she's cast aside,
Lost in the storm, no place to hide,
Her cries drowned out by nature's roar,
As destiny's hand sweeps her ashore.

Alone she stands, on unfamiliar land,
A stranger in a foreign strand,
But in her heart, a flame still burns,
A resilience that forever yearns.

Through fields of cotton, under Southern sun,
Her journey's just begun,
For though the chains may bind her frame,
Her spirit soars, untamed by shame.

In the crucible of adversity's fire,
She'll rise above, her soul inspired,
For in her veins, the blood runs deep,
A legacy of courage, she'll proudly keep.

Though her story's filled with pain and strife,
She'll carve her path, with strength and life,
A woman of color, in slavery's chains,
But her spirit's freedom forever reigns.
