'The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F***'
Uh oh. It's a curse word. It's okay. That's the only one. I promise, mostly. A while back I read this book, The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck.

I am an incredible fan of the written word. Since a child, I would indulge in different worlds through the covers of some of my favorite books. I would lock myself in my room until finished; sometimes going an entire day without food or sleep. While I cannot devote as much time to reading as when I was a kid, I still love adding to my reading list each month. While I don't discriminate, I do go through phases of what type of books I like reading.
Ashlyn HarperPublished 5 years ago in MotivationThe 10 Best Motivational Books for Students
"The difference between try and triumph is a little umph." But sometimes, that last bit of motivation can be hard to come by. Furthermore, once you find that drive, it can be difficult to figure out how to stay motivated. Navigating the academic waters of college can be tricky. You’re in this weird kind of limbo where you are still a student, but also an adult, and now have to carry the responsibilities of both. You’re going to learn a lot about yourself, life, and others in the next few years, but sometimes you may feel just a tiny bit stressed. You may want some advice about different things along the way. That is how this list has come to be. I have gathered some of the best motivational books for students out there, each with a specific area in mind, to help guide you through whatever new problem school or life may be throwing your way.
Leila ParkerPublished 5 years ago in MotivationDoes the Law of Attraction Actually Exist?
My uninformed impression of the law of attraction was that what you put out into the world is what you get back. On the surface this seems like it could be appealing, and support the notion that the world is a fair place.
Ashley L. PetersonPublished 5 years ago in MotivationBest Self-Help Books for Alcoholics
According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), 8.4% of adult men and 4.2% of adult women in the United States suffer from an alcohol abuse disorder—over 9 million men and over 5 million women. Many people with alcohol dependencies and addictions don't even realize it, while others are aware of the signs that they're drinking too much alcohol, but do not change it, whether out of a belief that they can't, or a lack of commitment to the kinds of steps one needs to take to recover.

Salvador LorenzPublished 6 years ago in Motivation'Light Is the New Black' by Rebecca Campbell Book Review
I received this book as a graduation present in June. I had been dreading graduating because I knew that a transition time would follow earning that diploma. What’s next? To me, transition times feel like a state of limbo: unknowing, unfamiliar, and uncontrollable. I had been using this limbo time for self-reflection and self-analysis, which was entirely enhanced by Light Is the New Black by Rebecca Campbell. It took me a minute to pick up the book after I graduated, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down.
Emma JPublished 6 years ago in MotivationA Personal Legend and How It Affects Its Seeker
According to Paulo Coelho, a “Personal Legend” is the calling that every individual has; one that is the highest accomplishment in their life. The protagonist of The Alchemist, Santiago, changes as a result of taking this journey by not only learning about himself in every step of the way, but the universe as well. This change often occurs when a person abandons one life for another, discovers what their Personal Legend is, takes risks and experiences obstacles and learns from these experiences, continuously improving beyond their search.

In such a fast-paced world, where you constantly seem to have no time for...anything, you feel tired after a long day in the office, and always look for something more than what you already have, you keep asking yourself the same question-– am I happy?

The notion that our inner thoughts can have a direct result on the physical world around us is not a new one. There are countless books on the subject pertaining to the success of ‘mind science’.
sylvana lee-jonesPublished 6 years ago in MotivationWhat I Learned from 'Big Magic' by Elizabeth Gilbert
I recently finished Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, and whew. Talk about a life-changer. I picked it up a while back from my college's Barnes and Noble after getting a gift card for Christmas from my grandparents. I tucked it away on my bookshelf and completely forgot about it until I was packing up everything to leave Texas for the summer. I came across it, was like "Oh yeah, I own this," and threw it in my suitcase with the rest of my belongings. Three weeks later, I'm finished with it and still brooding over its wisdom. For me, this book brought a whole new meaning to what creative living means and today, I'm here to share my favorite bits from it, which, by the way, were exceedingly difficult to choose. There's a lot of stuff in here, but I'll save some of it for you to discover on your own. So if you'd like to hear a bit of Liz Gilbert's wisdom on pushing past fear to live creatively, just keep reading.
