So, back in 2006, I'm doing about 70 mph on my motorcycle -- while popping a wheelie, with my feet stuck out over the windshield -- when I make a mistake. Bam. One second, I’m doing a stunt for a movie on a Maryland interstate, making money for doing insanely entertaining tricks on one of my two wheels. The next second, I’m roadkill -- still breathing (fortunately) but splattered and sprawled on the highway, with no way to call for help.

I’ve had a lot of jobs in my time, 14 and 9 months is probably not the most ideal time to start a job. On one hand it creates independence, and gives you the financial freedom to waste your money on whatever you want. Whether it be drugs, general consumerism or the massive phone bills from all the data you were using. On the other hand, it gets you used to the idea that your money is all your own to spend as you please. This makes it quite difficult later on when you have genuine expenses related to keeping yourself fed, clothed and sheltered. It creates genuine resentment over having to pay for things like toilet paper when you have spent 10 blissful years spending your money on drugs and concert tickets while someone else took financial responsibility for the boring stuff.
My First Job… at 18
Hey guys, welcome back to a newest blog post from yours truly~ Now, to be perfectly honest with you, I have lived a pretty sweet life. Unlike other teens that I’d known from school, I was blessed with having an awesome mom who wanted me to be safe and happy… by which I mean, not leaving the house and letting her take care of me. Which worked out pretty nicely for me as I’m not much of an outdoorsy kinda gal, both forest wise and just leaving my property line wise.

Seller's ChoicePublished 4 years ago in JournalWho Am I?
At a young age, I felt like an accessory. My best friend played competitive travel soccer, while I cheered on from the sidelines. My cousin performed on elite dance teams, while I applauded from the audience. The list went on and on but I was not on it. I felt incompetent—a hollow, empty mirror, reflecting on the achievements of others without any substance of my own. My dad always told me, “Jaime, you never know when lightening will strike; you have so much to offer.” Then, one day, it happened, and that image shattered forever!

The Agape Cause was started by Erica Meyler, of New Jersey, when her passion for the environment accidentally fueled a business idea. Erica speaks on starting The Agape Cause: "I actually came up with the idea by accident. I posted a story on Instagram as a joke when I bought some metal straws, poking fun at beauty gurus when they post swatches of their new products. I was really surprised that everyone took it seriously, but looking back it was because I was always trying to spread awareness about causes I cared about, especially centered around conservation and environmentalism. It was perfect how it fell into my lap, because I was always extremely frustrated with how I felt like these issues were out of my hands and I didn’t know how to help, but this was a great way. I think most people feel that way, so my main goal is to give people the tools they need to start getting involved and feel like their efforts matter. Thats why a percentage of the proceeds from each product will be donated to the cause it was inspired by!"
