In the distance were screams that could be heard as if someone was being chased. Trivia Collins and her best friend David Michael quickly ran back to their car when the screams seemed to have gotten closer.

The crack of the collision was strong enough to rattle the window panes. The deck shivered for a moment before growing still again. In the window the flame of the candle melted into the sill flickered but did not go out.

Before him sat the radio system. The buttons on it flashing in quick succession as he watched them. How long had it been since he spoke to another person? Just how long had it really been? Elliot wasn’t entirely sure anymore. But it didn’t matter. After all, he wasn’t lonely. Why in the entire world would he need to speak to anyone else for? At least that’s what he kept telling himself. That he wasn’t the least bit lonely.

I stand up with some effort. My body barely responds and I feel like everything is moving in slow motion. I can still feel the screams coming out of my own throat, and I shiver at the though. But now, strangely enough, I feel calm. I'm in shock, and I know it, and I need to get away from that street before I fall apart.

It's October and time for the vampire movies to abound on the small screen. There have been man adaptations of the story of good versus evil and the power of the Divine triumphing over the prince of darkness. There were several black and white versions of vampire stories but for many there are two men whose roles will always stick out as being the best portrayal of the thrilling story. Peter Cushing portrayed Van Helsing in the early Dracula movies of the 1960s and 1970s and Sir Christopher Lee was the iconic vampire. Once during an interview, Lee told a journalist the following his costar:

Leaves crunched under her boots as she ran fearing for her life. Her breathing was heavy and her heat was racing. The moon was full and at its peak, arrow whizzed past her embedding themselves into the bark of trees. Her eyes began to glow, one blue and one green. She stepped behind a tree for a moment to catch her breath. Her head was spinning "no, no, not yet" she begged herself as she watched her nails grow into claws. She screamed as pain coursed through her body, she pushed herself off the tree hoping to have time to hide from them. Though it was too late, she shifted from girl to beast. Coated in black fur, eyes glowing in the night, she took off. The woods were nothing for her. She's lived in them for as long as she could remember, but wherever she went they followed. The woods went on for miles making it the safest place for her.

The forest was mute. There was no whistling from a breeze dancing through the trees, nor the sound of the soft scuttling of creatures among the foliage.

There was a young and innocent little girl who found a small creature in the forest behind her house. The creature was like no other ever seen or talked about. It had a head of a rat, teeth of a cat, and wings like a bat's. It had a body of an ape, stood on two legs, legs were that of an ape, but the toes were talons. It's arms were long and slender full of black fur. Its eyes red and slit like a snake's. This little girl was very young and had not seen many creatures. She did not know that the curious little friend she found was something that shouldn't be around. She smiled at her little friend and full of innocent intention went to pat the little thing on the head. The creature did not resist and made noises like a purr, it seemed to like the pats from the little girl. Hearing her mother's call, the little girl went back inside her home. Leaving the little creature all alone.

In her attic bedroom Mara Murray, wrapped in an old patchwork quilt, sat on the foot of her bed and watched the trees tossing in the frenzied lashing of the wind. Behind the trees clouds scudded across the sky. At random moments the moon ripped through them, creating wraith-like shadows that raced along the ground.
The Goblin Trials
Darkness. It was all I saw, no sky, no light. Just an empty void. I felt the rickety movement of an old carriage rolling by. Everything here is navigated and found by all senses other than sight. Such is the way The Goblin Trials were made.

THE DEMAND "Dreknalsen!" "Yes, My Lord?" "Where are my results?! If we are to invade the human world then we need an army. One strong enough that they couldn't fight back if they wanted to. One where we will rule supreme over both worlds. Where both realms will belong to me and my brothers!" The torches flared at the faceless lords anger.
