The Musical Tinkle Of Broken Glass
Drabble Drop : Neighbour
The breaking of glass tinkles from afar but it piques my curiosity.
I wander to the window and gaze at the house on my right. There are two large windows broken, like gaping eyes.
Then I hear the musical tinkling again, but it’s coming from the house on my left.
Strange!
I move to the other side of my house and look out. There is my neighbour from the right, throwing kettle bells through the windows of my neighbour on the left.
I suddenly feel like I’m the piggy in the middle. Is that luck or are my windows next?
I was challenged to write a drabble of the word ‘neighbour'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
