Not What I Imagined
Drabble Drop : Landscape
Silly, silly me!
I gave a good friend, who owns a garden contracting business, free range to landscape my backyard and then I went on a relaxing month’s holiday.
I returned home, excited to view my glorious garden, but instead I was stupefied at the end result.
My backyard is suddenly an arid barren landscape, one that has the craziest cacti scattered haphazardly here and there. The beautiful grass was gone and the red dirt parched and cracked.
Did I mention that I absolutely hate cacti?
Lesson learnt — leave it to the professionals and don’t give friends carte blanche — EVER!
I was challenged to write a drabble of the word ‘landscape'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

That would be my nightmare...I hate cacti, also
Omgggg, I would have been sooooo pissed off! And yes, we should always leave it to the professionals
A landscape drabble, great job! Methinks it was turned into a 'natural' landscape. 🙀 But yeah, very detailed details must be given. Actually I have found that you must be present for all work!
