A Full Day of Vegetarian Eating
A number of days ago, I created a blogpost dedicated to what a day in my new, vegetarian diet looks like. Because I received such positive feedback on it, I decided that I would share another "full day of vegetarian eating" with you all. Without further ado, let's get into it.
Veggie for a Week!
Recently, myself and some colleagues from Therapy Agency challenged ourselves to go veggie for National Vegetarian Week. And to be honest, it wasn’t that hard. As a Filipino who was raised in an environment where eating meat was part of the culture, I thought I would struggle or even give up as soon as I saw a “6 wings and chips for £2.50” sign. Before I knew it, the week was over and I didn’t even realise I was still eating green until someone asked me about it.
Sleepless&BrokePublished 6 years ago in FeastThe Language of Consent
I have been thinking a lot about consent lately; it’s become a bit of a buzzword and that’s no bad thing. As an educator, I generally think about consent in terms of sex education and the fact that still, in 2018, consent is not explicitly taught to primary aged children.
Munjeeta SohalPublished 6 years ago in Feast5 Reasons You Should Go (Almost) Vegetarian
I grew up in a family that doesn't believe in a meal without meat and where a breakfast isn't a breakfast without bacon. Later in life, my friend and dating circle began to include more and more vegetarians. I would talk at length with them about how and why, and was supportive of their choices, but could never fully commit myself. After all, I was raised that the finest delicacy is a perfectly cooked steak.

Jamie ReadPublished 6 years ago in FeastThe Truth About How Animals End Up On Our Plates
Let me start off by letting that image sink in... I’m here today to give some insight to a massive issue that some of you may not have ever even thought about. In the back of our minds we all know what happens to an animal for it to end up on our plates... right? Well if you guessed it dies, you’re only half right. What you are about to read and see (yes, see. Pictures are worth a thousand words...) may be hard to swallow.
Rachael McAllisterPublished 7 years ago in FeastThey Say Happiness is a Choice
All my life I have been an animal lover; the typical female that has to stop for every dog on the street just to give it a cuddle, or feed the streets stray cat and laugh at funny pictures found of a horse and monkey being best friends on Facebook but I never could really comprehend the use of animals in this world.
Emily O'brienPublished 7 years ago in FeastHealthy Crock Pot Recipes for Vegetarians
Being a vegetarian can severely limit your options when trying to pin down a recipe for a delicious home-cooked meal. However, that doesn't mean it has to, as there are plenty of healthy choices out there — you just might have to do a little digging. And there is probably one great kitchen item you'r overlooking: the Crock Pot.
Amanda StamperPublished 7 years ago in FeastHomemade Tomato Sauce
Today I am making homemade tomato sauce. This is one of the condiments I like to prepare and have on hand regularly. I have always loved ketchup and was used to slathering it with almost every meal. I knew I needed to cut back as manufactured ketchup is full of preservatives. My brother drew attention to this addiction and would joke “Your main meal today is ketchup with fries on the side!”
Zhara HussainPublished 7 years ago in FeastQuick and Easy Crock Pot Recipes for Vegetarians
Crock pot recipes are always a great choice for a weeknight meal. They are the ultimate "lazy chef" option that tastes great, packs tons of nutrition, and also allows you to get in a full day of work while you cook dinner.
Rowan MarleyPublished 7 years ago in FeastHow Will We Eat in the Future?
The world’s population is increasing. It’s projected to rise from 7.4 billion people in 2016 to 9.2 billion people in 2050. That’s 1.8 billion extra mouths to feed in a world where, even now, people often go hungry. What’s needed is a revolution in how our food is grown, delivered and prepared. By using technology to further advance crop and meat production, the human race could create a sustainable future for not only our planet but for generations to come.
Jamie SergeantPublished 7 years ago in FeastThe Vegan/Vegetarian Challenge (Veganuary)
Earlier this year I met some friends who are dedicated vegans and they were promoting Veganuary (a month of eating vegan only food). This was so that people could take advantage of the fact that they are filled with a desire to change their lifestyle into something healthier after the excesses of the festive period. It’s also very good on your wallet as it’s a lot cheaper than buying meat on a regular basis. While I wanted to join them, I wasn’t sure how I would go about doing that and I had decided to undertake a different challenge and that was Dryanuary. This is where you give up alcohol for a month which I achieved, although it was not without its difficulties as I was still undergoing a healthy eating challenge but I was very happy about the result it produced. I also repeated the experiment abroad, 3 months later, with my family; however, we did slip up for Easter which was in the middle of this abstinence.
