My Favorite Students of All Time!
I have been a teacher/writer for 40 years come this June 2018. Actually, I have been a writer since I was an 8th grader, but that only enhanced my experiences. Here in New York, I have taught in Catholic schools, public schools and a charter school for a short amount of time. I taught mostly 6 to 8 grades. I also taught Kindergarten for (thankfully) one day and I taught high school for about a combined total of four years. In public school, I have worked as a Dean of Discipline and as an Assistant Principal. That is a lot of experience. So, as you can clearly see, I have a lot of educational experience and I am clearly able to write about it.

The choice between university or an apprenticeship is a tough one faced by most teenagers in the UK. When completing your A-Levels, choosing what to do after is a tough decision for many. At the mere age of 18, you're asked to choose what path you want to take for the rest of your life. What you choose to do at 18 years old can shape the adult you become. There are advantages and disadvantages to university and apprenticeships. However, it's important you make the decision that's right for you.
What You Don't Hear About Life at University
You're going to university. You're thinking about moving away from home maybe and meeting new people, living in a new place, making new relationships, and of course, we can't forget the nightlife. All these things are great, but what you don't hear about is the effects on your mental health all these things can have on you.
Annica WebbPublished 6 years ago in EducationHelp! It's My First Time Living in a University Dorm!
So, it's your first time living away from home! If you're anything like me, University was my first time living without my parents. Before university I had seldom gone a day without seeing at least one parent, so when I decided I would be going to a university out of my home city it was a completely new experience for me. Now that I'm in my 7th year, I've been able to reflect upon my time living in a first year dorm and share some helpful (I hope) tips with you!

Stop giving credit where credit isn’t due. The people who think we don’t give ourselves enough credit are wrong: we give ourselves too much. In an era of self-congratulation, many of us still manage to shoot for the moon, mistaking cockiness for talent and self-love for hard work.
Top Online Associate's Degree Programs
There's a variety of reasons why you might be skeptical of studying online, but of late it's become a growing phenomena that's almost easier than going to a state or university schools, which tend to be worth upwards of 10 grand. My advice would be to first ask yourself if you want online learning, or brick and mortar, since this is the rest of your life your working on benefiting. Once you've made that decision, go and gain the insight of studying a degree online via distance learning. It will be the difference between actually retaining the knowledge from online courses, versus simply "just doing it."
Johnson BernardPublished 6 years ago in EducationIs Having a Degree Really Worth It?
I have a degree. A first class honours degree in Management. I'm proud of what I’ve achieved, but I am starting to question whether going to university was a good decision or just a very expensive debt that I will (most likely) never pay off.
Why Do You Want to Be a Doctor?
"I want to help people." If you feel medicine is the life journey you would like to take, then at 17 years old you are expected to explain yourself to a professional (under strenuous interview circumstances). Often, the first words from a candidate's mouth are, "I want to help people." True? Often. Clichéd? Most definitely. But there is something to be said for this little 'buzz phrase.'
Ella DoolittlePublished 6 years ago in EducationThe Realities of Culinary School
I am about a year out from culinary school now, and I find myself missing it often. It was one of the best and hardest experiences of my life. If you’re here, you’re probably considering culinary school, or at least curious about it. Before I started I really had no idea what I was getting myself into. A lot of my thoughts, along with those of my classmates, were misconceptions. There is so much they don’t tell you before you get there that you have to figure out on your own. This list is the one I wish I had before I started.
Mira RaneyPublished 6 years ago in EducationLeft Wing Literary Theory
If you are writing an essay and you don't know what to write about... throw in some left wing literary theory! I'm serious, teachers and professors everyone love it! There are tons and tons of different kinds of literary theories, but for the sake of this article, let's focus on just "queer theory" and "post colonial theory." Also, just to clarify the therm "queer" is considered offensive, so try to avoid using it in casual conversations. However, with that said...the name for this literary type of theory seems to have not been updated yet.
The First Year of College
I’m you’re typical girl from a small town where everyone knows everybody, and you can hardly get away with anything. So you can only imagine how excited I was to start school four and a half hours away from my hometown in the fall of 2017.
