The L Word
I feel sometimes as if I am living my life through a lens. A filter that makes me see things differently from others. I find the most boring things fantastical, and some of the most amazing things, tiresome. I see beauty, reverence and admiration where others do not and where I was raised to not.

Changing colours
Life before lockdown, for me, can be described in one word: 'change'. Five years ago, I left a hospital teaching facility and decided to study 'Animal Welfare' at a normal college. Before this, I was severely ill with an anxiety condition and could barely leave the house.

Komorebi
Heavy curtains open up like my reluctant eyelids, letting in light and warmth from the new day. Brown roof tiles peek out under years of moss and birds begin to whoosh here and there, occasionally landing on the dew-soaked growths to look to the ground; where tasty prizes squirm and wiggle. Grass appears to perk up, windows open, and the world seems to turn once more.

The Scarecrow
Collecting scraps to build a nest is tiring work, I thought to myself, circling one of my local fields for the sixth time that day. It wasn't a huge nor pressing issue, as the eggs I had laid were quickly snarfed up by a hungry bird of prey before they could hatch, but I needed a place of warmth to stay for the winter.
