Getting the Most Out of Therapy
As my mom always says, "Everyone has their own stuff." Have you ever wondered how to make therapy more beneficial for you? Well, I'm sure you are wondering now that you have read that sentence. I am going to outline and try to explain why different things may, or may not, work based on my experience with therapists.

What is FND? (Along with my experience so far)
I want to begin this article by going over some acronyms, which I will be using. FND stands for functional neurological disorder and is also referred to as conversion disorder. PNES and PNEA are interchangeable. They stand for psychogenic non-epileptic seizure and psychogenic non-epileptic attack.

Her and Me
TW: Cancer, severe burns, mental illness, and death In November 2013, my grandma was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. The only symptom she had before this diagnosis was itching. They scheduled her for surgery to be done on December 26, 2013. By the time they had cut her open, the cancerous cells had spread to too many other organs for them to remove it. They gave her up to a year to live (with chemotherapy) but she was definitely a fighter.

How Does Mental Illness Feel?
I wrote this poem over a year ago (for a mental health awareness poetry contest) but it still holds quite a bit of truth to me and I want people to feel less alone, especially if they are struggling. I did end up winning and got it published in a blog.

Conversion Disorder Journal (Part 1)
I have had functional neurological disorder (FND) for about three and a half years now, since April 2018. It really began to get bad after my grandma passed away in June 2018 though. Before I get too into my personal story about it, I will explain a little bit about what FND, or conversion disorder, is.
