A Life on a Bench
Her stroll through the park was meant to be a moment of quiet contemplation - a few minutes away from the office to numb her mind and find solace in the linaloolian scent of the newly birthed cherry blossoms As she wandered, the weight of work left her shoulders. She stopped under a gnarled oak, as she scanned the scenery a red squirrel lept on to one of the many tattered benches clutching an acorn. catching her attention. She reached tentatively into her bag - hoping to capture the moment. By the time she had raised the lens to her eye, the tiny creature had bolted.

What Dreams May Come.
“I wish for…” She closed her eyes. The coin seemed to take on a life of its own as it launched out of her hand. It soared upwards into the precipitous air, pausing momentarily as if acquiescing to her desires, before crescendoing downwards. She watched it splash into the waiting pool, it swirled and eddied beneath the weight of water. She sighed. Wishes were a fool’s errand.

Attempt 2 at Heather Hubler's challenge. The last was an epic fail because I didn't clock the 12 letter word specification. Exactly the same as the first, but here's an adapted adjectival version. And no, it's not a 'real' word but it is indeed, 'of my choosing'.
