To the Many

To the early mornings and the feelings of a grey, heavy, ambience, where the guilt melts away with the falling rain. To the sound of the birds outside the window, tirelessly executing the exquisite concert of squawks. To my partner to be there by my side, still, loving me like he does, despite all the trouble I might be causing. To his heavy, beautiful arms resting on my waist until it hurts. To the smell of my sheets, lavishly soaked in orange and lavender. To the ten deep breaths and the perfect stillness without intrusive thoughts harassing my mind. To the split second between my feet and the timber floor, and standing there, ready for the world. To the curious potential, the day holds. To remembering that I am here only for a short visit and I might be called to leave at any time. May this year be filled with the charm of the mundane. I wish to stay present and awake, grateful, alive and at peace.

I wish myself the permission to sit and stare without judgement, finding the moments when words flow freely, speaking silently what my mouth can hardly express. Let my shell crack open as I dare to say hello to strangers. Finding the courage to express thank you more often and the appreciation to all the humans who are trying, day in and day out, just like me. To give my precious minute to someone else, because it might be just what they need, to keep going when everything seems pointless. To myself and You, I wish for more friendship and more care, giving and receiving, generous inspiration and selfless support.

I wish effortless authenticity and the joy that flows from it. A new exploration of all the twisted alleys of the creative mind. With the freedom to be vulnerable and share what I truly want to share. Dropping the walls and the worries. Without the uneasy need to pretend and play roles, obey rules and try to please. I crave the heart to challenge the stale and worn norms. Sharing the most provoking, yet humble thoughts and questioning everything that does not serve anymore. Saying the things everyone feels yet can not voice in fear of contempt.

I hope to settle in this new land, far away from home, and find the right job that feeds my belly and my dreams, through the power of my mind. Attuning to the rhythm strange to my body and the senses overloaded with impressions and loud voices of the masses who claimed this soil to be theirs. I wish to find my people and a community gentle, real and forgiving, igniting the sparks that push me forward. Let the blessings come with all the goodness that I take for granted, invisible and ingrained into the ordinary. May this time ahead be spent well, whatever it means to us.

Thank You for being here and for creating, waking up every day longing for meaning, refusing to sink into the comfort and consume mindlessly what is fed, grabbing the attention from every corner. In Your writing and Your moments, I wish You to keep exploring with wonder and awe, unconfined to all the constraints that weigh down and stand in the way. Let this time take You further than You have ever been, tapping into the reckless, the foolish and the unique. Step aside and let Yourself get ahead, clumsily and steady, straying and finding the way, over and over again. On this messy and confusing journey, relentlessly and ever - be true, be kind, be vocal.
