We did it! We hit 100 stories here on Vocal!

It's been a journey that has come with its ups and downs.

Some days I was excited to write something new but on other days I didn't really know what to say or if I even wanted to say anything at all.

This year I've challenged myself to write something for vocal every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Having this deadline every week has pushed me to be creative and productive even at times when I didn't want to. And now this is my 100th writing here. 100 is a big deal. We move out of double digits which seems scary but is a huge accomplishment.

Watching the growth of my page from story one until now has been fun. We've grown to 31 Subscribers, 888 reads, and one top story that you can read here.

These don't seem like big numbers, and they're not. But that's okay because it shows growth from when I started. I'm not trying to be the most famous writer. I'm not trying to get rich. I've found a way to share stories that I enjoy doing and love watching myself learn and grow. I've grown as a writer and as a creative. And I hope I am even further on my journey when I hit story 200.

It's so hard to see yourself progress when you don't have goals to meet.

If you want to achieve something my challenge to you is to set a goal and strive to achieve it. If you fall short then try again. Don't ever give up on your dreams. Be sure to set a goal that can be measured so you know when it's been reached. And then take the time to celebrate your achievement before moving on to the next goal you set.

Within these 100 stories, I have explored deeper into writing poetry and even dabbled into something new to me, short stories. You can find links to each chapter of my short story here.

I have found trying new things helps me grow in other areas that I am more passionate about. It's important to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone. If we don't try new things we can't grow as people. When we try new things we often find new hobbies that we didn't think we'd like but going outside of our comfort zone circle helps us find those things. Being outside of our comfort zone also helps us grow stronger as people. I think there is a famous lyric, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Although this is very cliche it does hold some truth.

This platform gives us, as writers, a way to grow stronger in our craft and look back and see our growth.

Whether you are at 1 subscriber or 1 million subscribers you still have chances to grow and get better! My hope is you will continue to push yourself and grow.

You can also help others grow on this platform by taking some time to read their work and leave a comment or tip to encourage them to keep growing as well.

The next landmark I want to hit is 1,000 reads! So if you've enjoyed my content this far make sure you're subscribed and share your favorite story with a friend or two!
