Summer of 78
In my youth in British Columbia, I loved to snorkel in ocean waters. Much of my time was spent when I prepared to attend private school, snorkelling under the White Rock Pier in all sorts of weather. During my youth, crabs were still plentiful around the White Rock Pier and in the rugged breakwater that protected it.

Order of the Heart IV
Mr. Edward Hurley had spent most of his life in either corrections or security. He worked his way from a grunt officer to senior Correctional Officer at the gate at a large Federal Prison in Kent, B.C. After retirement, he spent many years working for various security companies to occupy his time and feel like he was still an important member of society. Unfortunately, his beloved wife Beverly left him one day saying she was tired of being “Second Fiddle and to a uniform and badge.” When she left, she ended up with half his pensions and “Havah,” his favourite 38 revolver.

Order of the Heart. III
Andrew slowly turned the ladle in the pot. He sniffed the aroma of the sauce as it slowly grew to perfection. It might seem that the entire world was aflame, the end times might be upon everyone, but the pasta sauce Andrew created must always be the very best. He still remembered his restaurant on Oak and Broadway in Vancouver. During the Winter Olympics of 2010, people from around the globe lined up for his pasta and creative toasted slices of bread.

Order Of the Heart
Mary Walker sat as the truck bounced down the road, quickly approaching the ageing farmhouse and barn. The Order of the Heart
Chilliwack One and the order of the Heart began with three people meeting at the edge of the barn in a rural area. The end had come much quicker than anyone could have imagined the new virus moved so quickly. It amazed them how society lived through the original pandemic. Still, once Variant "M," also known as "Malum" or "Doom," began to spread, the world fell apart in quick order. Wayne was a school bus driver and former prison guard; his friend Maria was a social worker, and Patrick was a Vice Principal in a high school.
