Riddle Me This [an unofficial challenge]
Helllooo Vocal Creators! Welcome back for my June/July 2024 Vocal Challenge! Thank you to everyone who has participated in my past challenges! This is now challenge number four, and I've been having an absolute blast hosting.
Hannah's Challenge
I joined Vocal two years ago, a prick of enthusiasm beseeching me to throw caution to the wind, pay the readies and have a stab at a long stagnated pleasure. It worked remarkably well. I dipped in my toe, finding the water a little cooler than I had hoped, but as I stood there up to my ankles, I realised it was rather invigorating, and by the time I was up to my knees, it was pleasingly tepid. I dove in and swam out to where others were tossing balls about and wrestling over lilos and proceeded to have a whale of a time splashing about, sometimes missing my footing or getting water in my eye, but sometimes turning elegant somersaults and graceful dives.

A letter to me as I turn 22 today To all the 22-year-olds in the world, this one's for you. Go out there and conquer the world, it is your age to emerge victorious as you race across life's timelines, striding in the zeal of your highest vigour. It is an obligated way of living, a mere bane of existence, to become the worthiest and most appealing object of praise, a token of appreciation that glorifies the lineage of the family and has accomplished the major milestones that are deemed to be benchmarked and embraced as laid down by our society and the ones that surround us.

Your photos are so BEAUTIFUL! We got 14 gems and I’m very excited to announce the assignments for the writing part of this challenge. Oh, and before I forget to mention it, I WILL be doing this again in the future, so if anybody missed it, no worries. I’ll be back in the fall!

Long time, no see. I've had a lot going on in my life for the past year or so, and I have been feeling incredibly stagnant.
Ashley LimaPublished 7 days ago in WritersColor as a Storytelling Device
Think of the color green for a moment. Free associate the meaning of the color. In societal terms, green means go. Stop lights are a universal totem, red for stop, yellow for slow down, green for go. The cultural-societal association of these colors to specific meanings allows you as a writer to use these colors as a storytelling device. You can use peoples associations with color as a way of demonstrating something about your character visually. Green also has a cultural association, in America anyway, with money. Money is green and thus if you code your character with green and create a visual association with money, you've revealed character traits.

Hello again! For those of you who are regulars, welcome back. For those of you who are new, here are the rules (or lack of them).
Fantastical Vocal Favorites Vol. IV
Welcome back everyone to a very special volume of Fantastical Vocal Favorites! Before choosing the pieces to be featured on FVF, I like to think of a theme or 'vibe' I want to shoot for so that all stories picked fit with each other in some way shape or form.

Denise E LindquistPublished 13 days ago in WritersHow I created a poetry artbook
Back in at the very beginning of February, my brain began to itch with a new idea: a fusion of artwork and poetry. I protested the idea for a few days... it seemed too far fetched, I felt too inexperienced, it was too vulnerable to put something like that out into the world.
Scripting Utopia
I began writing this article today and instead ended up with this one below (which I had to then rename!). I often get lost on a tangent from where I begin because I realise I need to give context - otherwise I fear ending up trying to explain a book worthy concept in the comments section 😅
Kayleigh Fraser ✨Published 24 days ago in WritersThe Right Kind of Rejection
I consider it a privilege that, as of writing this, seventy-two Vocal writers have subscribed to me, presumably because they liked my work enough that they would want to be notified if I'd published something new.
