An old poem I found

my whole life

is freaking theatrics

a never ending

performance

all i do is act

but to me its real

everyone is in

the audience

but i'm stuck

in the projector

unaware i'm being

projected at all

searching for who

"me" is

but that's really

all i am

a projection

i'd wish it'd stop

cut the tape

rewind

i'm sick of being

the character

when i was so

sure i was

the director

(i'm not in control)

not even that

i thought i was

in the audience

watching a non-

existent play

freaking theatrics

This is a poem I came across lately which I wrote as an angsty teen. It is kind of strange coming across paper written poems that your younger self wrote, something that you actually touched and altered rather than just typed and saved.

Anyways, I thought I would post it for funsies.

    Very powerful!

  • Whoaaa, you wrote this when you were a teenager? That's awesomeeee! Your poem was so deep and extremely relatable because I feel that way too!

The character instead of the director; a projection - very insightful for a teen. 😀 it was a well written poem then and now.
