Prisms of shimmering colors
Light the path to serenity
Follow the glimmers
Watch for the light
So bright and occasionally white
Have you seen it? Did you look?
Beams flicker down through the trees
leaves waving, fluttering in a breeze
There is hope all around
Listen to its sound!
Hear the finches singing their slurs
While violet-green swallows fly by in blurs
A furry brown caterpillar inches its way
Right there by your foot, how can you say
the world is askew in this bright new day
Follow the glimmers and it will be okay
You can be happy to watch the play
of this beautiful world upon which we reside
How blessed are we all to be able to provide
optimism so that chaos is denied

Glimmers of optimism, indeed : )
A beautiful and well-wrought walk through nature! Optimism is much easier to maintain in the light of a beautiful day. I needed that before I finish my morning cup of joe and trudge off to the dungeon... I mean, the factory where I earn my daily bread!
This was like a breath of fresh air.
Thank you very much for writing a poem about optimism. I am so grateful that you did this for me. Thank you so much!!❤️
Yes, we need hope, Andrea. Thanks for helping us see positivity.
Yesterday, two Jehovah's witnesses came to my door and asked me if I saw hope in the world. Should have given them this on a leaflet.
Awww, this was absolutely wonderful and uplifting! "Provide optimism so that chaos is denied". I really loved that line!
Cool
Beautiful poem, Andrea, and a great reminder that I do not spend nearly enough time in the wild.
